Article 1. To choose a moderator, by ballot, to preside at said meeting.
Thomas G. O'Connell was elected moderator.
Art. 2. To act upon the reports of the town officers as published.
Voted. That the reports of town officers as printed be accepted and laid upon the table.
Art. 3 To choose all town officers not required to be chosen by ballot.
Voted. That a committee of seven be appointed to bring in a list of town officers not chosen by ballot. Chair appointed S. T. Parker, Frank Long, S. E. Ryder, Wm. T. Curley, Daniel Evans, P. J. Kelley, Melvin W. Boardman.
Art. 4. To see if the town will authorize its Treasurer to hire money to pay all demands in anticipation of taxes.
Voted. That for the purpose of procuring temporary loans to and for the use of the Town of Wakefield the Town Treas- urer is hereby authorized and directed, with the approval of a majority of the Board of Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the taxes of the present muni- cipal year, not exceding $240,000, and to execute and deliver the note or notes of the town therefor. Any debt or debts incurred by a loan or loans to the town under this vote shall be paid from the said taxes of the present municipal year.
Art. 5. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year and make appro- priations for the same.

Art. 7. To see if the town will authorize and instruct the Munici- pal Board to construct a new gas holder and a new gas bench, to replace the gas meter at the plant, to extend the coal sheds, and to renew certain gas mains.
Voted. On motion of Finance Committee
That the Municipal Light Board be authorized to construct a new gas holder and a new gas bench to replace the gas meter at the Plant, to extend the coal shed and renew certain gas mains and the sum of $25,000 is appropriated.
Art. 8. To see if the town will authorize an issue of bonds to an amount not exceeding $26,000 for terms not exceeding 10 years ; make provision for the payment of said bonds and

interest thereon ; and appropriate the proceeds of said bonds to the payment of the additions, enlargements, reconstruction and renewals authorized under the preceding article, toward meeting the $25,000 appropriation under Article 7.
Voted. The Selectmen and Town Treasurer are authorized to issue and sell bonds of town to amount of $25,000 dated 1st of April, 1909, payable $2,500 annually for 10 years on the first day of April with interest at a rate not exceeding 4 per cent. per annum, payable semi-annually, the said bonds to be . authenticated by the certificate of the City Trust Company of Boston.
Art. 9. To see if the town will authorize and instruct the Mu- nicipal Light Board to contract for the purchase of electric current for the light plant for a term not exceeding five years. Voted. To lay on table.
Art. 10. To see if the town will vote to discontinue the night watch, and that the Police Department furnish police protec- tion, in the district heretofore covered by the night watch, or what they will do about it.
Art. 11. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to ap- point a night watch and raise and appropriate money therefor. Voted. To lay on table.
Art. 12. To see if the town will raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to macadamize Richardson avenue, or what they will do about it. George A. Wheeler and others.
Art. 13. To see if the town will vote to build a sidewalk on the easterly part of Green street, from Oak street northerly to the residence of L. Willard Flint, and raise and appropriate money therefor, or what they will do about it. L. Willard Flint and others.
Art. 14. To see if the town will raise and appropriate $900 to repair Cordis street, from No. 33 Cordis street to Vernon street, work to be done in the same manner as Sweetser street was repaired in 1908. George N. Whiting and others.

To see if the town will amend the rule adopted for the Water Department, beginning "Bills for the use of water shall be payable semi-annually in advance on the first day of June and December of each year," by striking out the words "June and December" and inserting in place thereof the words "May and November," the same to take effect after June 1st, 1909, or what they will do about it. Art. 23. To see if the town will vote to purchase the lot of land

opposite the pumping station, situated on the north side of Broadway, bounded southerly by Broadway 267 feet, easterly by Foundry street 150 feet, northerly by land formerly of Daniel G. Walton 278 feet, and westerly by land of Greany about 163 feet, as an addition to the Water Plant, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor, or what they will do about it. Voted. That Water Commissioners be authorized to purchase this land at a price not exceeding $600, provided the title be perfect. Expense to be taken from surplus of the Water' Department.

Art. 26. To see if the town will raise and appropriate a suffi- cient sum of money to make certain changes in the method of lighting the Town Hall, or what they will do about it. George L. Wakefield and others.

Art. 27. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to pur- chase all the coal for the town with the exception of that

used by the Municipal Light Plant and Water Department, under one bid or contract, or what they will do about it.

Art. 28. To see if the town will raise and appropriate $1,300 for the suppression of the Gypsy and Brown Tail moths. W. W. Whittredge and others.

S. K. Hamilton, chairman of Committee, presented their report. Report having been published in full and their rec- omendations printed by the Selectmen.
Committee had worked for welfare of Town and hoped re- ' sults of its labors would be to the Town's interest.
Voted. That the report be accepted and thanks of the Town be extended to members of Committee for their faithful services in the interest of the town.
