Record of Town Meetings
ANNUAL TOWN MEETING-MARCH 12, 1945
Meeting called to order at 7:30 o'clock P. M. by Moderator Thomas
G. O'Connell, who read the call for the meeting.
On motion by Charles C. Cox:
Voted: That further reading of the Warrant, with the exception of the constable's return, be dispensed with.
The constable's return was read by the Moderator.
ARTICLE 1
To act upon the reports of Town Officers as published.
On motion by John I. Preston:
Voted: That the subject matter of Article one be layed on the table as the Town Reports are not yet published.
ARTICLE 2
To choose all Town Officers not required to be chosen by ballot. On motion by William G. Dill:
Voted: That a committee of five be appointed by the Moderator to bring in nominations for all Town Officers not required to be chosen by ballot.
ARTICLE 3
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1945, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws .- John I. Preston and others.
On motion by Frederick W. Bliss for the Finance Committee:
Voted: That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Select- men, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1945, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with section 17, Chapter 44 General Laws.
ARTICLE 4
To see if the Town will vote to authorize various departments to pur- chase new equipment at net costs not exceeding amounts specified be- low, exchanging similar equipment therefor, where now owned, the net cost of such new equipment to be expended from the appropriations voted for such departments.
