Chairman Bliss of the Finance Committee announced that his commit- tee had no recommendation and preferred the Selectmen to make the motion.
Amendment (to Mr. Davis' motion) by Harry Marshall:
That the Moderator be authorized to appoint a committee of nine to report on the subject matters of Articles 5, 6, and 7; said report to be filed with the Town Clerk on or before February 15, 1946, and submitted at the next Annual Town Meeting.

On motion by Mr. Sweetser:
Voted: That the vote passed under Article 2 be reconsidered.
Mr. Sweetser stated that, owing to the lengthy discussion under Article 2, when it was originally debated, that many persons were confused and voted for indefinite postponement when they thought they were voting for the Article.
Motion by Mr. Sweetser:
That the town vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to erect a boathouse at Lake Quannapowitt to house police boat, select a suitable location therefor, and appropriate the sum of $2,400.00 to pay for the same, and that said sum be taken from the Excess and Deficiency Account.
Motion by Frederick W. Bliss:
That the subject matter of Article 2 be referred to a committee of five to consist of two selectmen, two members of the park board, and one member of the police department; said committee to report at the next Annual Town Meeting.
The vote on Mr. Bliss' motion was thirty (30) in the affirmative, and forty (40) in the negative, and the motion to refer was not carried.
Mr. Sweetser's motion was then voted in the affirmative.
ARTICLE 8
To see if the Town will accept the report of the 1944 Town Tercenten- ary Committee, as published in the 1944 Town Report .- Eva G. Ripley and others.

That the report of the Tercentenary Committee, as accepted and signed by the committee, and printed in the 1944 Town Report, be hereby accepted.

ARTICLE 7
To see if the Town will authorize the School Department to purchase for school purposes the following described parcel of land, beginning at a point on the east side of Main Street adjacent to land of the Town of Wakefield and occupied by Greenwood School, the line runs easterly by said land of the Town of Wakefield 127 feet; south by land formerly of Clark, 81 feet; westerly by land now or formerly of Clark 105 feet; northerly by Main Street 89 feet, being lots number 1 and 2 on plan recorded with Land Court South Registry District, Book 97, Plan 73; and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor, the same to be taken from the School Department appropriation Salary Account .- School Committee.
On motion by Finance Committee:
Voted: That the Town authorize the School Committee to purchase, for school purposes, the land described in Article 7; and appropriate the sum of $1,000.00 in payment therefor, through transfer from the appropriation for the School Department Salary Account.
