Town Meeting - Jan. 4, 1950
Meeting called to order at 7.30 P. M., by Moderator Harry Marshall, who read the call for the meeting.
On motion by Charles C. Cox:
Voted: That reading of the balance of the warrant be dispensed with, with the exception of the constable's return.

TOWN OF WAKEFIELD
ARTICLE 1
To see if the town will vote, that the increase of 7% in salaries and wages of Town employees, as specified and voted under Article 5 of the Annual Town Meeting of the year 1949, be continued in effect from January 1, 1950 until the close of the Annual Town Meeting of 1950 .- Board of Selectmen.
On motion by Herbert D. Anderson, for the Finance Committee:
Voted: That the increase of 7% in salaries and wages for town em- ployees, as specified and voted under Article 5 of the Annual Town Meeting for the year 1949, be continued in effect until the close of the Annual Town Meeting of 1950.
The vote in the affirmative was unanimous and the Moderator so declared it.
ARTICLE 2
To see if the town will vote to authorize the Board of Public Welfare to purchase a new electric refrigerator for the Town Home, cost not to exceed $1,000., and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money in payment therefor .- Board of Public Welfare.
On motion by Finance Committee:
Voted: That the subject matter of Article 2 be indefinitely postponed.
ARTICLE 3
To see if the town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to pay Police Officer John L. Clark a sum equal to his salary from January 1st to April 1st, 1950 inc., said John L. Clark being unable to perform his regular work due to injuries received in performance of his duties, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor, said pay- ments to be made to John L. Clark in weekly installments .- Board of Selectmen.
On motion by Finance Committee:
Voted: That the Board of Selectmen be authorized to pay Police Officer John L. Clark a sum equal to his salary from January 1 to April 1, 1950, inclusive, said John L. Clark being unable to perform his regular work due to injuries received in the performance of his duties, and raise and appropriate the sum of $781.04 therefor, said payments to be made to John L. Clark in weekly installments.
On motion by Herbert D. Anderson:
Voted: That this meeting be now dissolved.
Meeting dissolved at 7.43 P. M.

REPORT OF TOWN CLERK
Town Meeting - March 13, 1950
With an attendance of 800 voters at the Town Hall, Moderator Harry Marshall announced that the telephone cable connecting the loud-speaker system at the High School Auditorium was out of order.
At 7.40 P. M., a motion was made at the high school, where 75 voters were present, that they adjourn until 8.15 P. M., and go to the Town Hall, where the Moderator had informed them there were plenty of seats available.
At 8.15 P. M., Moderator Marshall called the meeting to order at the Town Hall, and read the call for the meeting.
On motion by Moses Frankel:
Voted: That further reading of the warrant, with the exception of the constable's return, be dispensed with.
Constable's return read by the Moderator.
ARTICLE 1
To act upon the reports of town officers as published.
On motion by Charles C. Cox:
Voted: That the subject matter of Article 1 be laid upon the table.
ARTICLE 2
To choose all town officers not required to be chosen by ballot.
On motion by Herbert D. Anderson:
Voted: That a committee of five be appointed by the Moderator to bring in nominations for those town officers not required to be elected by ballot.
ARTICLE 3
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1950, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws .- John I. Preston and others.
On motion by Herbert D. Anderson, Chairman of the Finance Com- mittee, for the committee:
Voted: That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1950, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.
