D., 1910 and Section 3, of Article 1, of the By-Laws, having been complied with were called to order by the Moderator, at 7.45 o'clock in the evening.

Voted. To take articles 2, 3, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 from the table.


Art. 2. On motion by Mr. James A. Halloran :


Voted: That the report of the Auditors on Selectmen's, Treasurer's, Tax Collector's, Water Commissioners', Sewer Commissioners', Municipal Light Board's, Library Trustees' and Cemetery Commissioners' accounts as set forth in the printed annual report for the year ending January 31, 1910, be, and hereby is accepted.


Art. 3. On motion by Mr. F. A. Morrill:


Voted: The appropriation committee begs leave to submit the following report: The members of the committee met and organized. The committee has taken up the matters referred to it and given them such consideration as was possible in the limited time which existed prior to this meeting. As it will require the balance of the present month to properly consider and report upon said matters the committee respectfully suggest that final action upon said matters be postponed until Monday

Voted: That the Town Treasurer be and hereby is author- ized with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money during the municipal year beginning Feb. 1, A. D. 1910, in anticipation of taxes, such sums of money as may be necessary for the current expenses of the town, giving the notes of the town therefor, payable within one year from the dates thereof. All debts incurred under authority of this vote shall be paid from taxes of the present municipal year.

Fire Department.

Board of Health.


Sec. 8. That the sum of one thousand five hundred (1,500) dollars be raised and appropriated to meet the expense of the Board of Health.


Tree Warden Expenses.


Sec. 9. That the sum of one thousand two hundred and fifty (1,250) dollars be raised and appropriated to be expended in trimming and care of shade trees for the current year, namely :--

Suppression of Gipsy and Brown Tail Moth and Elm

Suppression of Gypsy and Brown Tail Moth and Elm Tree Beetle 1000 and that the Tree Warden when entering upon private property for the suppression of these pests, collect from such owners the full costs allowed by law.


Liquor.


Sec. 10. That the sum of two hundred (200) dollars be

raised and appropriated for the prosecution of illegal sales of liquor.


Highways, etc. .


Sec. 11. That the sum of four thousand (4,000) dollars be raised and appropriated for the repairs of highways, culverts and bridges the ensuing year.


Sidewalks, etc.


Sec. 12. That the sum of five hundred (500) dollars be raised and appropriated for building sidewalks and setting edgestones.


Gutters.


Sec. 13. That the sum of five hundred (500) dollars be raised and appropriated for the paving of gutters the ensuing year.


Sanding Sidewalks.


Sec. 14. That the sum of two hundred (200) dollars be raised and appropriated to be expended in sanding sidewalks during the winter months, and that the sand be well screened.


Street Signs.


Sec. 15. That the sum of fifty (50) dollars be raised and appropriated for street signs.


Stone Crusher.


Sec. 16. That no money be specially raised and appro- priated for operating stone crusher the present year, a sufficient amount being included under Section 11 of this article.


Watering Streets.


Sec. 17. That the sum of two thousand (2000) dollars be raised and appropriated for watering or using other dust-laying material (watered or treated) for streets the ensuing year and

that one half the cost be assessed on the abuttors on the streets watered or treated.


Band Concerts.


Sec. 18. That no money be appropriated for band concerts this year.


Sewer Department.


Sec. 19. That the sum of five thousand (5,000) dollars be raised and appropriated to pay for sewer bonds coming due in 1910.


And that the sum of ten thousand four hundred and ninety (10,490) dollars be appropriated from the treasury of the Sewer commissioners, namely :-

Art. 12. On motion by Mr. Brainard A. Rowe:


Voted: That the pay for horses on town work shall be at not exceeding twenty cents per hour.


Extending the Survey.


Art. 18. On motion by Mr. Francis E. Everett:


Voted: That the sum of five hundred (500) dollars be raised and appropriated to be expended in extending the survey of the town and providing plans, maps and books for the use of the Assessors and other town officers.


Bookkeeper.


Art. 19. On motion by Mr. Edson D. Smith:


Voted: That the sum of one thousand three hundred (1,300) dollars be raised and appropriated to be expended in installing a system of accounts and in employing a bookkeeper to perform such clerical duties as may be required in connection with all the accounts of the town, who shall be appointed by the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, and who shall be responsible to the Treasurer; the system of accounting to have the approval of the Board of Auditors; and to raise and appropriate money for the said purpose, or take any other action in the matter.


Water Commissioners Instructed.

Voted: That the Board of Water Commissioners be instructed to make a thorough investigation of the subject matter under this article as regards the cost of providing water meters for all service connections, the number of meters now in use owned by water takers, the cost to the town of taking over all such meters, the number of water takers to whom the cost of water would be increased by the installing of water meters,

also the question of reducing the price charged to all water takers in the town, and to report in writing to the town at a future town meeting.
