Commonwealth of mass ., Hampden, ss. To either of the Constables of Brumfield. Greeting: - In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachu- setts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Brumfield qualified to vote in town affairs to meet at the town hall in said Brimfield on Monday, the third day of February, 1930, at ten o'clock in the forenoon . to act on the following: - To choose a moderator to preside over said meeting To give in their votes to the election officers on one ballot for the following town officers. - Town Clerk, Three Selecthnen, Treasurer, Jax Collector, Free warden, Five Constables, all for the term of one year; one school committee, one assessor, one Cemetery Commissioner, one member of the Board of Public welfare, two Library Trustees, all for the term of three years; also one Cemetery Commissioner for one year to fill vacancy. Annual Town meeting February 3. 1930.
In response to the foregoing warrant, the voters assembled in Town Hall . The tellers and ballot clerks previously appointed by the Selection , were som by the Town Clerk and took their respective positions. The Clerk called the meeting to orden, and, The reading of the warrant being voted dispensed with, proceeded to the election of a moderator. This was done by ballot. The voting list being used as required by law. The result of the ballot was the unanimous choice of 'm. G. Tarbell as moderator. Mr. Tarbell was som by the clerk and immediately declared the polls to The open, at 10:04 a.M. at this time on account of the small attendance, a recess was voted until 010:30.

at 10:30, the business of the meeting was taken up. Voted, to accept the reports as printed. The Committee on acoustics of Town Hall reported at this time, their report being accepted and the Commette discharged

Voted, to authorize the treasurer with the consent of the Selection, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of revenue of the current finan- cial year and to issue a note on notes therefor , said note on notes not to exceed in the aggregate the sum as limited by Statute Low payable within one year from date thereof. any debt or debts contracted under this vote to be paid from the receipts of the current financial year!

art. 16. On recommendation of the Finance Committee and warren Road. a motion by C. B. Brown, it was voted. To appropriate the sum of # 9,000. to construct a macadam highway on the warren Road; the sum of $3.925. proceeds from the sale of the Town Farm to be appropriated for this purpose, the balance of $ 5,075 to be vocrowed in incordance with the probic- cond of eaton 7. Chapter 4 of the General Laws.
This vote was made contrugent on the state and County each contributing #18,000,- and the vote as polled by the moderator was 62 for and 6 againet.

The Finance Committee recommended that the School Committee procure specifications and definite plans for a new heating and ventilating system at the Center School and report at a future meeting.

Ou motion of Mr. Coolbroth, it was voted, That the town is willing to install a steam heating and ventilating system in the Grammar school; that the School

Committee obtain plans and specifications for such a system from 2 or 3 reliable contractors, which shall be approved by the state Board of Public Safety , and that the Selectmen call a special town meeting to be held not later than June 1, 1930, to act on an appropriation with which to install the system .
Voted, to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000. for a concrete sidewalk including curbing, to start at the easterly corner of the post office and continue westerly as far as the money will build same.
a motion by Mr Lawrence that abutters be assessed one half cost of same was lost after some discussion The Finance Committee recommended that a new new truck truck for the highway department be purchased in the same manner as the the bought last year, i. E., ou a rental basis. on motion of C. B. Brown , it was so voted.

On motion Mr. Gifford, it was voted to authorize the Selectmen to appoint Constables as provided in Section 91 A of Chapter 41 of General Lawe.
By this action by the town, beginning in 1931, the Constables will no longer be elected on official ballot .

Voted, to raise and appropriate 2v. to procure plane for a gate and spillway at Sherman Pond, and the Selectmen were instructed to secure an estimate of the cost Voted, to raise and appropriate 50. for the use of the committee on street and highway safety. to be expended under the direction of the Selectmen. The appropriation of 8850. voted for Chapter 81 road work was made conditional on the State con- tributing two thirds of the amount.

That the voters of the town assembled in town meeting, hereby Express to the womans Business Club the town's appreciation for the wall erected by them at the Cemetery and that the Town Clerk be instructed to send to the womans Business Club a copy of this vote as recorded in the records of the town.
a recess was taken at noon until 1 o'clock for the purpose of allowing the voters to partake of the dinner served in the basement by ladies of the Benevolent Society.
at 2 o'clock and five minutes, the polls were declared closed and a recess was declared while the vote was rolled. This was done audibly and the result announced a total of 179 votes cast. To see if the town will vole to amend the vote passed under article 16 of the warrant for the annual town meeting of Leby 3, 1930, so as to read as follows; Voted: that there be raised and appropriated the sum of 9,000. to construct a highway on the Waren Road under specifications approved by the Division of Highways, said sum to be used in conjunction with amounts to be contributed by the County and State and that, to meet said appropriation, there be raised in the tax levy of the current year the sum of $1,000. and the treasures, with the approval of the Selectionen. be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of $8.000, and to issue bonds or notes of the town therefor, said bouds or notes to be payable in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44, General Laws, so that the whole loan shall the paid in full not more than five years from the date of issue of the first bond or note, for at such earlier dates as the treasurer and selectmen may determine. Special Town meeting May 19, 19 30.
In response to the foregoing warrant, the voters of Brinifield assembled at Town Stall on Monday, may 19, 1930. The meeting was called to order by the Town Clerk, who read the warrant and look up the Election of a moderator.
M. G. Tarbell was the unanimous choice of the meeting and he was sworn by the Town Clerk. On mation of Mr. Lawrence, it was voted, that on questions of the appropriation of money, the vote be taken by ballot, using the check list. under article 2, the Finance Committee recommended the appropriation of $1,000. from this year's tax levy and 8,000 to be borrowed, all as per the article in the warrant. Considerable discussion pro and can followed and the question was put to a vote, yes or no, on the appro- priation of 9,000. Result of ballot : yes 41; no 74, appropriation loot. These reports are Embodied in the two following articles. The Finance Committee recommended that action on this article be postponed until the annual meeting, and on motion of O.P Parker. it was so voted.
The Finance Committee recommend that the plans for a new heating and ventilating system at the Center School, presented by the School Commuter are too Expensive for the town to assume at the present time and that they be passed ver ; they also recommend that the present ventilating system at this school be improved-
Mr. Coolbrock offered the following motion : - I move that the town do now voted as to which of the two boilers may be used by the school committee

the result of that vote to be equivalent to a vole to raise and appropriate the sum of money required to install the heating land ventilating system at the Grammar school, according to plans and specifications made by A. C. Robinson, land using the boiler so voted for; the total cost of installation to be, in the case of the Spencer boiler, $4.200 .; in the case of the american Radiator boiler # 3753.75.
On motion of mr. Oliver, it was voted to separate the previous motion and act on the larger sum first. This was done by ballot the result being 29 voting for the appropriation of $4.200. and 71 against" at this point a motion to adjourn was offered and unanimously voted.

To see if the town will vote to appropriate a sun of money to be used in conjunction with amounts to be contributed by the state and county to continue the con struction on the warren road wider Chapter yo, or take any action relative thereto.

The meeting called pursuant to the foregoing warrant was called to order by the town clerk at 80 clock P.M. June 19, 1930, who read the warrant and took up art. 1. I the election of a moderator.
Munroe G. Tarbell being the unanimous choice of the meeting, he was duly sword by the Clerk. art. 2 to use Voted. to rescind vote taken under article 16 in the warrant for the last annual meeting. On motion of Mr. Lawrence that check list be used in check list voting on articles calling for an appropriation of money, it was so voted. The Finance Committee reported that they had no recommendation to make for continuing the work on the warren Road .
A motion was offered by mr. Freeman to appropriate the sum of $2.000. for construction on the Warren Road, to be used in conjunction with $4,000. Each from state and county, under chapter 90. after considerable discussion a vote was taken by ballot, the result being 51 voting for the motion and 67 against. The motion being loot. Voted , on motion of Mr. Oliver, that action on this article be indefinitely postponed.
