Two bad forest fires threatened the southern section of the town May 5th. The woods in the rear of Mrs. Boyer's camp at Bartholomew Pond burned 150 acres and 100 cords of standing woods of the Fay estate in Lynn , which burned for three days, spreading to the Overlea section of the town.
