This Society was the first in the State to publish in de- tail its transactions, -which have now extended to six large octavo volumes, containing much valuable informa- tion to the agricnlturist.


A Library was commenced in the autumn of 1849, which now numbers about one thousand volumes, deposited in P'Imamer Hall, Sale m.


In 1858 the Society came into possession of a valuable farm of 150 acres in Topsfield, beqneathed to it by the late Dr Treadwell, of Salem, for experimental purposes.
