John Hobson,3 son of John,2 was born Sept. 11, 1825, in Hudders- field, and died Dec. 10, 1903, in Ludlow. He was a member of the 46th Regiment, Mass. Volunteers. He was constable for several years. He married first, in Wilbraham, Sept. 1, 1852, Mary Lewis; married second, March 14, 1869, Celia E. Robbins, born July 21, 1833, died Sept. 12, 1908, daughter of Amos and Elizabeth (Hoar) Robbins. The Hubbards came to America in 1630. Elisha and John Hubbard, Jr., came to Ludlow about 1740 and settled near the Center.

He was a major in the state militia; served the town as representative, trial justice, clerk, and town treasurer. He married in Ware, April 14, 1835, Harriet Maria Parsons, born Jan. 1, 18-, died March 31, 1867, daughter of Benjamin and Betsey Cornelia (Shepard) Parsons. Children :
