Beginning at a point in the Southerly side line of East Walnut Street the location of said point being described as follows:
Beginning at a stone bound which marks the Southeasterly end of the Northerly side line of East Walnut Street, thence Northwesterly along the Northerly side line of said street a dis- tance of 224.7 feet to a point on the wall, thence turning an angle of 90 degrees to the southwest and running a distance of 33 feet to a point in the Southerly line of East Walnut Street, this being the point first mentioned, thence running South 34 degrees, 15 minutes West a distance of 190 feet to an iron pipe in the ground.
Said line is to be the center line of the proposed street, which is to be 40 feet wide and to lie 20 feet on either side of the above described line.

ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING, MARCH 15, 1948
The Moderator called the meeting to order and the Monitors checked the list. 109 Persons being present a recess was declared for 15 minutes until a quorum was present. On the second check there were 129 members present and the meeting was opened.
Article 19. A motion was made that the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of One thousand ($1,000.00) dollars for paving road at the Vernon Grove Cemetery. An amendment to the motion was made and seconded that the sum of One thousand ($1,000.00) dollars be appropriated from the Sale of Lots and Graves Account of the Vernon Grove Cemetery for paving road at the Vernon Grove Cemetery and it was VOTED: That the sum of One thousand (1,000.00) dollars be appropriated from the Sale of Lots and Graves Account of the Vernon Grove Cemetery for pav- ing road at the Vernon Grove Cemetery.
Article 20. VOTED: To pass over the article.
Article 21. The Clerk read the lay-out of Fairview Avenue.
Fairview Avenue
Beginning at a point in the Southerly New Side Line of Med- way Street and at the Northwest corner of land of Michael and Mary Blascio, thence S 26 degrees East a distance of 455 feet to a point, this point being the South West Corner of Lot No. 50, on Plan marked "Fairview Tract Milford, Mass. Property of Frank P. Clough, Scale 100 feet equals 1 inch. A. Hussey Oct. 1897." and filed with Worcester Registry of Deeds-Book 1552, Page 655, thence turning an angle of 90 degrees to the West and running a distance of 50 feet to a point at the South East corner of Lot No. 49, on above mentioned Plan, thence N 26 degrees West a distance of 490 feet to a point in the Southerly New Line of Medway Street, thence Southeasterly along Southerly New Line of Medway Street 61 feet more or less to a point of beginning. Article 23. VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of One hundred forty-six dollars and thirty-eight ($146.38) cents for unpaid bills in the Salary and Wages Account of the Police Department.

Article 25. A motion was made and seconded that the Town vote to purchase so much of the plant of the Worcester Suburban Electric Company as is located within the town limits for the manufacturing or distribution of electricity for municipal use or for the use of its inhabitants or take any action in relation to the same under the provisions of General Laws (Ter. Ed.) Chap. 164, Sections 34 and 36 as last amended by St. 1937, Ch. 235.
Under the statute this required that a ballot vote be taken. The Moderator appointed the following Tellers: George W. Bil- lings, Donald F. Phillips and Charles W. Frascotti.

A motion was made and seconded to pass over the article. Seven persons doubted the vote that the motion was lost and a standing vote was taken. There were 67 in favor of passing over and 29 opposed so the motion was carried to pass over the article.
Article 28. VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Forty-seven dollars and sixty-one ($47.61) cents for the purpose of paying a 1947 unpaid Infirmary bill for the Board of Public Welfare.

Article 29. VOTED: That the Town vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell all or a part of land off Hayward Field and to execute and deliver a deed therefor, said property being described as follows: Beginning at a point at the southeasterly corner of the granting premises it being the southwesterly corner of the land of one Iacovelli, et al., thence northerly and bounded easterly by lands now or formerly of one Iacovelli, Covino, Fontecchio and one Mazzarelli to the southerly side line of a Town right of way lead- ing from Meade Street westerly through Hayward Field to the Dam at Charles River, thence westerly along the southerly side of said right of way to a point, said point being the southerly end of the westerly dividing line between one A. Diotalevi and G. Casasanta where it intersects the southerly line of the above right of way referred it, thence south westerly to a point whose location is 265 feet more or less northwesterly from the point of beginning, said line having an azimuth of 138 degrees 28 minutes 54.1" from the first mentioned point of beginning: thence southeasterly along this last described line 265 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning; reserving to the Town of Milford a right of way 15 feet wide, beginning at the southeasterly corner of the granted premises and at land now or formerly of Iacovelli; thence norther- ly and bounded easterly by lands now or formerly of Iacovelli, Covino, Fontecchio, Mazzarelli, to the right of way from Meade Street westerly to the Dam at Charles River, being a portion of land described in Land Court Case No. 16762 and on Plan filed with the Land Registration Office February 11, 1938, scale 250 feet; equals an 1". C. B. Humphrey, Engineer for the Court, it being Sheet No. 1 of Case 16762A, and original certificate of title re- gistered in Book 14, Page 2605.
Article 30. VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Fifteen hundred ($1,500.00) dollars to purchase a 1/2 ton Pick-up Truck for the Town Infirmary.
Article 31. VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Eight hundred and fifty ($850.00) dollars for the purpose of installing the dedication signs for World War II Squares which have already been designated.
Article 32. VOTED: That the Town vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to sell the Old Plains Primary Annex School Building.
Article 33. VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of Two hundred sixty-three ($263.00) dollars for the purpose of paying an unpaid bill for 1947 in the Memorial Hall Construction Account.

Article 37. VOTED: That the Town of Milford raise and appropriate the sum of Four hundred eighteen dollars and fifty ($418.50) cents for the purpose of paying a 1947 unpaid bill for the Board of Health.

Article 38. VOTED: That the Town vote to authorize the Selectmen to appoint a committee of seven to inquire into the provisions of Chapter 631 of the Acts of 1947 of the General Laws relating to a building code and to make such recommendations as the committee deems necessary and expedient relating thereto, said committee to report at the next Special Town Meeting in 1948.
Article 39. VOTED: That the Town vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of One thousand ($1,000.00) dollars for the purpose of electrically lighting certain main streets during the Christmas holidays, to be expended under the supervision of a committee consisting of three to be appointed by the Moderator.
Article 40. VOTED: To pass over the article.
Article 41. A motion was made and seconded that the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Nine thousand four hundred ($9,400.00) dollars for the extension of a sewer on West Fountain Street.
An amendment to consider Articles 41 and 42 together was passed.
Article 42. It was moved and seconded that the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Eighteen hundred fifty ($1,850.00) dollars for the extension of a sewer on Upper Congress Street.
The quorum was doubted by Mr. Cenedella and the Monitors checked their respective precincts and the result showed that 119 persons were present, a sufficient number to constitute a quorum.
The motion was amended to read that the Town appropriate the sum of $27,900.00 from the Bond Issue for a period of 10 years for Sewer extensions on W. Fountain and Congress Streets. A standing vote was taken-there was 94 in favor of the amend- ment and 1 opposed so therefore it was

Article 43. VOTED: That the Town appropriate the sum of Twelve hundred dollars ($1,200.00) from the Purchasing of New Apparatus account in the Fire Department, for the purpose of Repairing and Refinishing motorized apparatus in the Fire De- partment.
Article 44. VOTED: To pass over the article.
Article 45. A motion was made and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-five hundred ($2,500.00) dollars for the purpose of improving Pine Island Road, said money to be expended under the supervision of the Highway Surveyor.
The motion was lost.
Article 46. A motion was made and seconded that the town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Twenty-five hundred ($2,500.00) dollars for the purpose of reconstructing the sidewalk beginning at the junction of East Main and Medway Streets, running in an easterly direction on the southerly side of said East Main Street, a distance of approximately 1200 ft. more or less. An amendment was passed adding that "said money to be expended under the supervision of the Highway Surveyor."
Seven persons doubted the vote. A standing vote was taken and there were 63 in favor and 22 opposed and it was

Article 51. VOTED: That the Town vote to rescind the pre- vious vote made on March 21, 1945 on Article 29, whereby the Town voted to accept the report of the Town Forest Committee and place Louisa Lake and its area under the Town Forest Com- mission.

It was moved and seconded that the Town vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to execute a lease of the Louisa Lake Property as owned by the Town to the Charles River Fish and Game Club for a Rental fee of $1.00 per year. An amendment was passed adding the words "that no inhabitant of the Town of Milford be restricted from use of Louisa Lake and its property, and it was

Pursuant to a warrant signed by the Selectmen of Milford, the inhabitants of the Town of Milford, qualified by law to vote in Primaries met in State Armory, in said town on Tuesday, the 27th day of April, A.D. 1948 at 2 o'clock P.M. and the meeting was called to order by Michael P. Visconti, Chairman of Selectmen, Presiding Election Officer.
The Town Clerk read the Warrant and the Officers' return thereon. All legal requirements having been complied with, the business meeting began.
During the voting the ballot box was opened at 5:30 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. for the purpose of taking out, sorting and counting the ballots.
The polls were declared closed at 8 P.M.
There were 88 Democratic ballots cast and 245 Republican ballots cast. Total number 333.
The result of the Democratic ballot was announced by the Town Clerk at 8:45 P.M. and the Republican ballot at 9:30 P.M.
