Article 52. VOTED: That the town raise and appro- priate the sum of Two thousand eight hundred ($2,800 .- 00) dollars for the purpose of constructing a sidewalk on the westerly side of West Maple Street, from West Street to the beginning of the Veterans Housing Project.

Article 58. VOTED: That the town raise and ap- propriate the sum of Thirty-five hundred ($3,500.00) dol- lars for the purpose of altering, remodelling, and redeco- rating the rooms now occupied by the Third District Court of Southern Worcester.
Article 59. A motion was made and seconded that the town adopt the following provisions as a By-Law of the Town of Milford :
The operator of any vehicle involved in an accident in this Town resulting in the injury or death of any per- son or who is involved in any accident in which there is caused any damage to property in the apparent total ex- tent of Twenty-five ($25.00) dollars or more shall within

twenty-four hours make a full and complete report in writing of such accident to the Police Department of this town.
Any operator who has been incapacitated as a result of such accident and to such an extent so as to make re- porting impossible or unfavorable to his or her recovery, shall not be required to report said accident until he or she has recovered sufficiently to be able to do so. This report shall be made on a form furnished by the Police Department and available at the Police Station.
Compliance with this Section, however, shall not re- lieve said operator from the additional responsibility of reporting to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles any accident in which a person is killed or injured.
The motion was lost.
Article 60. It was moved and seconded that action under this articcle be postponed and be combined with Article 57.
Article 61. VOTED: That the town appropriate the sum of Two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars for the surfac- ing with a bituminous material, a section of Highland Street, said sum to come from the Ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars raised and appropriated under Ar- ticle 39.
Article 62. VOTED: That the town raise and ap- propriate the sum of Four hundred fifty ($450.00) dollars for Band Hire for public concerts this summer.
Article 63. VOTED: That the town raise and ap- propriate the sum of One hundred fifty ($150.00) dollars for expense money for public concerts this summer.
Article 64. VOTED: That the town vote to author- ize the Selectmen to appoint a committee of five (5) to have full charge of supervising the public concerts this summer.

VOTED: That the town raise and ap- propriate the sum of Three thousand seven hundred twen- ty ($3,720.00) dollars for the installation of a bituminous concrete sidewalk on the westerly side of Sumner Street from Lincoln Street to Granite Street and on the north- erly side of Granite Street from Sumner Street to Winter Street.
Article 67. VOTED: That the town amend the By- Law passed by the town March 7th, 1924 by adding the following :
No person except the Highway Surveyor in the law- ful performance of his duties or those acting under his orders, except other persons as are or may be authorized by statute, shall break or dig up the ground in any street or public way in the town without obtaining a written permit from the Highway Surveyor which shall state the regulations under which the work shall be done.
Article 68. VOTED: That the town raise and ap- propriate the sum of Six hundred ($600.00) dollars for the purpose of building a stairway on the northeasterly side of Town Hall.
Article 69. VOTED : To pass over the article.
Under Article 2 of the budget postponed action on Gypsy Moth Suppression and Dutch Elm Disease was taken up. By unanimous consent it was voted to take up Article 23.

Nolan Avenue
Beginning at a drill hole in a stone in a retaining wall in the easterly line of Green Street and at the northwest corner of land of one Mancini:
Thence :- Running south 74 degrees, 15 minutes east and bounded south by land of said Mancini and land of Doheny and Keough a distance of 317.23 feet to a bound at an angle point,
Thence :- Turning an interior angle of 75 degrees, 28 minutes and running north a distance of 41.48 feet to a bound at land of Doheny and Keough,
Thence :- Turning an interior angle of 104 degrees, 32 minutes and running north 74 degrees, 15 minutes west and bounded northerly by land of said Doheny and Keough, land of Costanza and Oswald 302.45 feet to a corner of walls at the southwest corner of said Oswald land and in the easterly line of Green Street,
Thence :- Turning an interior angle of 96 degrees, 14 minutes and running south 22 degrees west along the easterly line of Green Street 40.2 feet to a point of be- ginning, said street is to be 40 feet wide and no land is taken from either side.

It was moved and seconded that action be taken by the meeting under Articles 57-60 as consolidated.
VOTED: That the sum of Seventeen thousand one hundred ($17,100.00) dollars be appropriated for the pur- pose of extending the sewers on Florence Street Exten- sion and Madden Avenue, and that to meet the said ap- propriation the sum of Four thousand ($4,000.00) dollars be raised and appropriated in the 1950 tax levy, and that the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of Thirteen thou- sand one hundred ($13,100.00) dollars and to issue bonds and notes of the town therefor, payable in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than 12 years from the date of issue of the first bond or note, or. at such earlier time as the Treasurer and the Selectmen may determine.
Unanimous vote-voice.
Article 7. VOTED : That the town appropriate from available funds under the Excess and Deficiency Account, all free cash available for use, but in no event less than seventy-five thousand ($75,000.00) dollars by the Board of Assessors in fixing the tax rate for 1950.

The Primary was held at the State Armory with Chairman John J. Casey opening the polls at 10 A. M. The Town Clerk read the Warrant the Officer's return thereon.
All election officers were sworn in by the Town Clerk.
The ballot box was opened at 3:15 P. M. at which time it registered 910; it was opened at 4:15 P. M. at which time it registered 1066; it was opened at 5:30 P. M.
