The committee were of the opinion after conferring with the Water Commissioners that the income from the water works with the allowance for hydrants will be sufficient to pay for the supervision and maintes. Mance of that department, the interest on water fonds and the sinking fund without an appropriation.
The principal of the town dell not provided with sinking funds, is $22.000, of which $ 3.000 comes due this year.
At the present rate of payment the town in twenty one years will have water works now estimate to be worth $ 90.000, paid for in full, and if the prevent use of water continues, a large income will annually be received into the town treasury which can be applied towards other expenses.
Three thousand or more of the principal of the general town debt and $800 on the school house deft is being paid annually. Under these circumstances the committee recommend that the temporary loan of $4,000 be funded at a future meeting when an article to that effect care be inserted in the warrant
The committee end that the town, grant the sum of $ 35.625. This amount, with State and county tas, will require on present valuation a tax rate of about $14.
