its removal would be necessary. We were advised, however, by Mr. W. O. Faulkner, who is acting as agent for the owner of the property, that he had obtained from a Building Wrecking Company a price of $100. for the removal and salvage of this old structure which seemed very conservative.

The Town Engineering Department was consulted as to the amount of fill which would be required to bring this land up to grade and we received an estimate by letter that it would take 1700 cubic yards at 60c per yard or an additional cost of $1020. whereas the Angell property would only require 800 cubic yards at a cost of $480.

Taking the cost of the land, removal of building and estimated fill for the Jordan property the total cost to the town would be $7620. or approximately 51c per square foot.

On the Angell property the price of the land plus the fill would cost the town $2580. or approximately 18c per square foot.

Taking all details into careful consideration as explained above, it became chiefly a matter of cost to the town considered strictly from a new Fire Station location standpoint, therefore your site committee were unanimous in there selection of the Angell property located at the corner of Commercial and Hayward Streets for recommendation to the citizens of the Town for their consideration at this Special Town Meeting.
