Annual Town Meeting
Braintree, Mass .. March 15, 1943
The Annual Town Meeting was called to order at 7:55 P. M. by Mod- erator William F. Rogers. The Town Meeting Members were checked on entering, there being 177 present.
Invocation was offered by Reverend Gustave H. Leining.
Town Meeting Members present were duly sworn into office by the Town Clerk, Ernest C. Woodsum.
ARTICLE 1.
Voted: To elect three Measurer of Lumber : Alfred H. Holbrook, Shelley A. Neal and John A. Ryan elected.
Voted: To elect three Measures of Wood and Weighers of Hay: Will- ard P. Sheppard, Walter J. O'Brien and George A. Williams elected.
Voted: To elect seven Trustees of the Braintree School Fund for a term of three years: Morrill R. Allen, James E. Folsom, Arthur L. Hale Roger Lakin, George E. Sampson, George A. Walker and Ralph B. Wood- sum elected.
ARTICLE 2.
Voted: That this Article be taken up in conjunction with all other Articles.
Mr. Connell offered the report of the Committee appointed by the Moderator in March, 1942, to study and report on a parking area in East Braintree. This report is on file in the Town Clerk's office.
Mr. Hunt moved: That the report be received and referred to the next Annual Meeting .- So Voted 8:04.
Mr. Schwab offered the report of the committee appointed under Ar. ticle 62 of the Annual Town Meeting, March 23, 1942, to investigate the advisability of adopting a plan of salary standardization, classification of and rates of compensation for employees of the Town. This report is on file in the Town Clerk's office.
Mr. Connell moved: That the report be accepted as read and that the Moderator be instructed to appoint a Committee of five to continue the work .- Carried 8:11.
ARTICLE 3.
Voted: That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in antici- pation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1943, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter .44, General Laws .- Unanimous vote S:13.
ARTICLE 4.
Voted: That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in antici- pation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1944, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accord- ance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws .- Unanimous vote 8:14.

Voted: To authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money for general municipal purposes under the authority of and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 49 of the Acts of 1933, as amended .- Unanimous vote 8:15.
