for the maintenance and operation of the water supply system,

laying and relaying of water mains, the same to be taken fron the surplus of the water reveunes as shown on the books, Decem- ber 31, 1942, and from the revenues of the Department for the year 1943 .- Carried 9:48.


Mr. Storm moved: That the Water Department be authorized to extend the water mains on Audubon Road easterly a distance of approximately 770 ft., the cost of this extension to be taken from the revenue of the Water Department.


Mr. Hunt offered as an addition, and accepted by Mr. Storm, that the following be incorporated in the original motion: "In their discretion and subject to such regulations as may be provided."'

Voted: That the sum of $345 be appropriated for the salaries of the Water Commissioners, the same to be taken from the revenues of the Water Department for the year 1943, which includes 15% additional compensation for 1 year.

Voted: That the sum of $345 be appropriated for the salaries of the Electric Light Commissioners, the same to be taken from the revenues of the Electric Light Department for the year 1943, which includes 15% addi- tional compensation for 1 year.


ARTICLE 16.


Voted: That there be appropriated the sum of $8500 for Street Lighting.


ARTICLE 17.


Moved: That there be included in the Tax Levy for electricity used for street lighting the sum of $8500 as appropriated under Article 16 of this Warrant for the 1943 Annual Town Meeting, and that said sum together with the income from the sales of electricitp to proivate consumers, or from current supplied to municipal buildings or from Municipal Power, and from sale of appliances and jobbing during the fiscal year, be appropriated for the use of the Municipal Light Plant, the whole to be expended under the direction and control of the Municipal Light Board, for repairs, renewals, new construction, and operating expenses of the plant for the present fiscal year, as defined in Section 57 of Chapter 164 of the General Laws, and that, if said income shall exceed the expenses for the fiscal year, such excess shall be transferred to the Construction Fund of said plant and appropriated and used for such additions to the plant as may thereafter be authorized by the Municipal Light Board.
