To the Selectmen of Ipswich :- Gentlemen : The following is an inventory of property belonging to the Ipswich Fire department.
At the engine house in Loney's lane, one engine (Butten's make) in good order, and one hose jumper.
At the engine house near Asa Lord's, one engine (Hunner -. man's make) in good order, and one hose carriage.
At the house on Summer street, one hose carriage.
At the Town house is the Gen. Sutton Hook & Ladder truck, with the following articles : one pole for horses, 9 ladders, 1 large grapnel fand chain. 1 large hook and rope, 1 large pole and hook, 2 small poles and five hooks, 6 pitch-forks, 2 ladder stay- poles, 2 roof chains, 4 sails and 2 guy ropes.
: There are also at the several houses, the following articles, viz ; 1700 feet leather hose and 13 pieces old cotton hose, 24 feet suc- tion hose, 14 hose pipes, 6 extra pipe nozzles, 2 copper tubes for suction hose, one coupling, 20 spanners and 10 spanner belts, 1 copper branch coupling, 1 strainer, 23 lanterns, 5 wrenches, 10 axes, 3 crow bars, 12 buckets and pails, 8 straps, 3 breastplates, 14 rubber coats, 4 oil cans, 5 brushes, 5 stoves, 2 whiffletrees, 2 shovels, 6 lamps, 1 table, 4 chairs, 7 settees, 1 hammer, 1 broom, 1 sponge and chamois skin and 1 oiling jack.

The Overseers would report that the stock on the farm has been much improved during the past year and is now in good condition ; that the buildings, utensils in the house, and farming tools, with such additions as have been made, are in good order and repair, and that the farm is in all respects in good con- dition. All the bills against the farm for the past year have been paid. The whole number cf inmates at the farm the past year was 12; the average number, 9 ; the present number is 9.
