In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus, qualified to vote in Town affairs, to meet at the several voting precincts of the Town on Monday, February 4, A.D. ARTICLE 1. To hear and act on reports of Committees.
ART. 2. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1935, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for' a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.
ART. 3. To see what sums of money the Town will appro- priate and raise by taxation for Town Charges and for any other purpose for which the Town may legally expend money.
ART. 4. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $28,000.00 for materials, supplies, equipment, services, rent, medical attendance, and other expenses for ERA projects, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter. Board of Selectmen.
ART. 5. To see if the Town will vote to accept Section 100A of Chapter 41 of the General Laws as amended by Chapter 318 of the Acts of 1933, said section relating to the indemni- fication by cities and towns which accept said section of an officer or employee thereof for expenses and damages incurred by him in the defence or settlement of a claim against him for bodily injuries, including death, at any time resulting therefrom, arising out of the operation of a motor or other vehicle owned by such city or town, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.
ART. 6. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $850.00 to be expended under the direction of the Town Treasurer to investigate and to determine the validity of tax titles held by the Town, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Town Treasurer.
ART. 7. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $550.00 for the purchase of a one-half ton motor truck chassis and for the expense of installing a truck body thereon for the use of the Cemetery Commissioners, or to see what

action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $5500.00 for the purchase for cemetery purposes of two certain parcels of land with the buildings thereon, situated on the northerly side of Winter Street, and shown as Lots Nos. A-30 and A-24 on Plan No. 1013, on file in the Assessors' Office, containing 25,550 square feet and 14,900 square feet of land, more or less respectively, and sometimes known as the Monteith property, and authorize the Selectmen to make such purchase on behalf of the Town, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners.
ART. 9. To see if the Town will vote to permit the use for burial purposes of the land described in the preceding article, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agree- able to the petition of the Board of Cemetery Commissioners.
ART. 10. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $900.00 for the installation of an oil heating system in the Town Hall, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $3,000.00 for the construction of Woodbury Avenue to be used in connection with the sum of $6,000.00 appropri- ated by the State and $3,000.00 by the County of Essex, under Chapter 90 of the General Laws, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.
ART. 12. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $1,200 for road and drainage repairs on Maple Street, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agree- able to the petition of Ralph B. Rice and others.
ART. 13. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to extend the water mains from the residence of Konrad Berthold to the Wakefield line on Main Street, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Ina M. Waitt and others.

ART. 14. To see if the Town will vote to locate and main- tain a street light at 42 Ash Street, agreeable to the petition of Carl A. Staff and others.
ART. 15. To see if the Town will vote to purchase or take by right of eminent domain for school purposes the following described land on Winter Street: Lots 3 and 4, being lots A-17 and A-18 on Plan on file in the Assessors' Office, Saugus, Mass., containing 10,000 feet and the buildings thereon, and lot 5, being lot A-19 on Plan 1013 on file in the Assessors' Office, Saugus, Mass., containing 5,000 feet and the buildings thereon, and to appropriate therefor the sum of $14,000, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the School Committee.
ART. 16. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of one hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125) to provide two heating units for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Building, East Saugus, owned by the Town, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Charles F. Mason and others.
ART. 17. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $100.00 for the purpose of installing a hydrant on the corner of Madiera Street and Intervale Avenue, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 18. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $5500.00 for the purpose of rebuilding Seagraves Pump Engine No. 1, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 19. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $12,500.00 for the purchase of a 750 gallon triple combination fire pump for the Fire Department, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 20. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $1200.00 for material, the labor to be ERA, for the repairing of Newcomb Avenue from Jefferson Avenue to Edison Street, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agree- able to the petition of Otto F. Persson and others.

ART. 21. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to acquire by taking by eminent domain and/or by purchase for drainage purposes an easement approximately fifteen feet wide from Lincoln Avenue through Guild Road, a private way, and a portion of Clement Road, a private way, and for a distance of approximately 1,000 feet Southeasterly from Clement Road through private property, to a brook, and appropriate a sum of money for such purchase and/or for damages for such taking, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.
ART. 22. To see if the Town of Saugus will vote to instruct the Treasurer to foreclose the outstanding tax titles on a cer- tain parcel of land on the easterly side of Central Street, now owned by the Rochester Trust Company, being lot A-151 on Plan 1006 on file in the Assessors' Office, and known as the "Old Cinder Banks", and if foreclosed the same to be used for Park purposes, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Parson Roby Chap- ter, D.A.R., and others.
ART. 23. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $1600.00 for the purpose of laying water extension on Burrill and Ireson Streets, a distance of 500 feet, more or less, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Luigi Bertorelli and others.
ART. 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $1200.00 for semi-permanent construction of Pearson Street, approximately 500 feet, more or less, from Jasper Street to that portion now surfaced, said repairs to include grading and surfacing with crushed stone and pea- stone to enable the use of drains now installed and eliminate a muddy condition which in rainy weather makes the street almost impassable, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Wendell C. Brooks and others.
ART. 25. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $850.00 for the purpose of maintaining, during the ensuing year, the mosquito control works as esti- mated and certified to by the State Reclamation Board in ac- cordance with the provisions of Chapter 112, Acts of 1931.

ART. 26. To see if the Town will vote to purchase or take by right of eminent domain for Playground purposes the fol- lowing described land: Northwesterly, part of lot A-185 on plan 3015 on file in the Assessors' Office, Saugus, Mass., now or formerly owned by Carmen and Filomena Cogliano, con- taining 85,000 feet, and to appropriate therefor the sum of $1500, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Bristow Street Improvement Association.
ART. 27. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of twelve hundred dollars ($1200.00) for permanently constructing Columbus Avenue, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Leroy B. Morrill and others.
ART. 28. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Public Welfare with the approval of the Selectmen to let or lease any portion or portions of the land owned by the Town and now used or held for purposes of the Town Infirmary. Town Accountant.
ART. 29. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money not exceeding fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the purchase and installation of a Fire and Police signal system, and to provide any sum so appropriated by borrowing or otherwise, and to authorize the Selectmen to petition the Federal Government for a grant of money under the National Industrial Recovery Act and accept such grant, and authorize the Selectmen or a committee appointed as the meeting may determine to expend such appropriation, or take any action relative thereto, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 30. To see if the Town will authorize or instruct the Selectmen to petition the General Court for legislation to authorize the Town to raise by borrowing a sum of money for the purchase and installation of a Fire and Police signal sys- tem, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 31. To see if the Town will appropriate and raise by borrowing or otherwise the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for the purchase and installation of a Fire and

Police signal system, and authorize the Selectmen or a com- mittee appointed as the meeting may determine to expend such appropriation, or take any action relative thereto, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 32. To see if the Town will vote to authorize or in- struct the Selectmen to petition the General Court for legisla- tion authorizing the Town to appropriate and pay to Ralph E. Berrett the sum of $175.00 to reimburse him for expenses incurred by him in the defense of an action of tort brought against him for damages alleged to have been sustained as the result of the operation of a motor vehicle owned by the Town and operated by him in the course of his duty as Lieutenant in the Fire Department, in which action judgment was ren- dered in favor of said Ralph E. Berrett, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
ART. 33. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of Thirty-nine Hundred and Thirty-three Dollars ($3933.00) for the purpose of removing all existing toilets and urinals in the Roby School Building together with such additional work as may be necessary and for the purpose of installing modern, new toilets and urinals in the aforesaid building together with such additional work as may be neces- sary, the same to be expended under the direction of the School Committee, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the School Committee.
ART. 34. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars ($550.00) for the pur- pose of tying the old electric entrance and the power entrance to the new electric entrance in the new Saugus High School Addition Building, the same to be expended under the direction of the School Committee, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the School Committee.
ART. 35. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of Twenty-three Hundred Dollars ($2300.00) for the purpose of equipping the new cafeteria in the Saugus High School Addition Building with an electric refrigerator, tables and chairs, and dishes, silverware, and kitchen utensils, same to be expended under the direction of the School Committee,

or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agree- able to the petition of the School Committee.
ART. 36. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of Twenty-nine Hundred and Sixteen Dollars ($2916.00) for the purpose of removing all existing toilets and urinals in the Old Roby School Building together with such additional work as may be necessary and for the purpose of installing modern, new toilets and urinals in the aforesaid building to- gether with such additional work as may be necessary, the same to be expended under the direction of the School Com- mittee, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the School Committee.
ART. 37. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen on behalf of the Town to accept a conveyance of a parcel of land containing 129 square feet, more or less, at the Southeasterly corner of Elm and Walnut Street, for highway purposes.
ART. 38. To see if the Town will vote to accept the layout of a Town way on Houston Avenue in accordance with a report of Selectmen and plan filed in the office of the Town Clerk, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
