ARTICLE 19. |Upon petition of John W. Field and others). To see if the Town will vote to amend in part its Town Meeting Act, Chapter 61 of the Acts of 1921, by striking ont Section 2 thereof and inserting the following :-

The first third, in the order of votes received, of members so elected shall serve three years, the second third in such order shall serve two years, and the remaining third in such order shall serve one year, from the day of the annual town meeting; in case of a tie vote affecting the division into thirds, as aforesaid, the members elected from the precinct shall by ballot determine the same; and thereafter, except as is other- wise provided herein, at each annual town election the registered voters of each precinct shall, in like manner, elect, for the term of three years, one-third of the number of elected town meeting members to which such precinct is entitled, and shall at such elec- tion fill for the unexpired term or terms any vacancy or vacanies then existing in the number of elected town meeting members in such precinct.
The terms of office of all elected town meeting members from every precinct revised as aforesaid shall cease upon the election as hereinbefore provided of their successors. The town clerk, shall, after every election of town meeting members, forthwith notify each such member by mail of his election."

DWELLINGS WITHOUT A CELLAR
Any building hereafter constructed with a timber floor but without a cellar, shall have a space of at least 30 inches, properly drained and ventilated and free from rubbish and organic matter, between the ground and the under side of floor beams.
All buildings without a cellar but with a central heating plant shall have a room for this purpose of sufficient size to allow 18 inches of clear space around the heating plant. All heater rooms shall be separated from other rooms in the building by walls, floors and ceilings, having a fire resistance rating of not less than one hour. A self closing fire door and fireproof panels of access to piping shall not be prohibited."

ARTICLE 26. (At Request of School Committee). To see if the Town will vote to take by right of eminent domain for school or other public pur- poses two certain parcels of land situated in Weymouth belonging or pur- porting to belong to Owen J. Mitchell, adjoining westerly and southerly the present High School premises, and shown on a plan of the same drawn by Russell H. Whiting, Civil Engineer, July 1, 1941, as Parcel A and Parcel B on said plan, and being the same premises authorized to be purchased by the School Committee by vote under Article 34 at the last Annual Town Meet- ing; and to raise and appropriate the sum of one dollar ($1.00) or other suf- ficient sum for the purpose of such taking; and further, to see if the Town will vote to authorize the application of the appropriation made by vote under Article 34 at the last Annual Town Meeting for the purpose of securing deed or deeds in confirmation of such taking, and to see what further action the Town will vote to take pertinent to this Article and to the disposition of the appropriation made under such Article 34, and to take any other action in relation thereto.
PARKS AND PLAYGROUNDS
ARTICLE 27. (On petition of Ralph L. Cobb and others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the pur- pose of acquiring for park purposes the land abutting Bradford Hawes Park, belonging to Mr. David Westcott and containing about 77,800 square feet and to see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to take by purchase, gift or by eminent domain in fee whatever land may be necessary for this purpose or to take any other action in relation thereto.
WATER DEPARTMENT
ARTICLE 28. (At Request of Water Department). To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Water Commissioners to acquire by gift or purchase or take by right of eminent domain, certain land lying within the watershed of Great Pond and not already owned by the Town, for the purpose of protecting the Town's water supply, and to see if the Town will vote to appropriate for the said purpose the sum of $5,000 from the General

Fund of the Water Department, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 29. (At Request of Water Department). To see if the Town will vote to instruct its Board of Selectmen to transfer to the Board of Water Commissioners for the purpose of protecting the Town's water sup- ply the custody of land lying within the watershed of Great Pond which shall come into the possession of the Town, and certain parcels of land so situated and already owned by the Town, to wit :-
1-Buildings and land off Thicket Street containing 410,000 square feet more or les and bounded as follows: Northerly by lands of Edward E. and Sarah B. Jordan and of Alice A. Nash, and by lands of owner or owners unknown; Easterly by land of James Tirrell and by lands of owner or owners unknown; Souther- ly by land of Helen S. Tirrell; and Westerly by land of Isaac R. Jackson and by land of owner or owners unknown; or however otherwise bounded.
2-Land containing 759,300 square feet more or less and bounded as follows: Northerly by land of Isaac R. Jackson and by land of owner or owners unknown; Easterly by land of owner or owners unknown, by land of Helen S. Tirrell, by land of Michele and Lucia DiCicco and land of Vera MacCormack; Southerly by land of John E. Orcutt, and Ann Street; and Westerly by Ann Street and Town of Holbrook; or however otherwise bounded.

MISCELLANEOUS
ARTICLE 30 (On petition of Tufts Library Trustees). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of placing Memorial Plaques in the Town Hall, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 31. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what action the Town will take relative to the abolition of the Green Street grade crossing at Weymouth Heights or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 32 (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will authorize its Board of Selectmen to convey to the United States of America for purposes of National Defense, such land within the area acquired for the Naval Lighter-than-Air Base in South Weymouth as it owns under fore- closure of tax titles, and such rights to effect foreclosure as it may have on such properties now held under tax titles, or take any other action in re- lation thereto.
ARTICLE 33. (On petition of William L. Slaney and others). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $250. to be ex- pended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen for the purpose of stocking the pond and other inland waters, located within the town, with fish and liberating game in accordance with Chapter 142 of the Acts of 1938.
ARTICLE 34. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to take charge of and maintain the Old Ashwood Cemetery located in Precinct 3 and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for this purpose or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 35. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to receive, hold and apply from the executors, administrators and trust- ees or heirs of Mrs. Florence T. Hunt, the sum of $200. for the preservation, care, improvement or embellishment of the grave of N. F. T. Hunt, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 36. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what action the Town will take relative to the renovation of the Town Hall.
ARTICLE 37. (On petition of George E. Lane and others). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for payment to Dr. Joseph Howland for hospital survey report submitted to Board of Select- men on August 25, 1941, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 38. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what action the Town will take relative to the construction of the Laban Pratt Hospital.
ARTICLE 39. (At Request of Everett E. Callahan). To see if the Town will vote to instruct its Board of Selectmen to invest $50,000. of the Laban Pratt Hospital fund so called in United States Defense Savings Bonds, Series F. or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 40. (At Request of Everett E. Callahan). To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Contributory Retirement Board to invest $50.000. of its funds in United States Defense Savings Bonds, Series F, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 41. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of reimbursing Ernest W. Thomas for expenses and damages incurred by him as a result of a suit brought against him by Mary Suppa or take any other action in rela- tion thereto.
ARTICLE 42. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $550. for the purpose of maintaining during the ensuing year, the mosquito control works as estimated and certified to by the State Reclamation Board in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 112, Acts of 1931, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 43. (On petition of Weymouth Historical Society). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of the moving and rehabilitation of the "Abigail Adams House," so called, now located on Government Property, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 44. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for payment of its share in the maintenance and upkeep of the Monatiquot River Bridge, including payments and interest past due or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 45. (On petition of Weymouth Teachers' Association). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to pro- vide emergency increments to the salary, compensation, or wages of all Town employees, to become effective as of March 16, 1942, for the period of one year, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 46. (On petition of Selectmen George E. Lane and others). To see if the Town will vote to increase the salaries and wages of Town em- ployees 10% to be additional to any annual step rate increase or any annual · increases given employees in Town Departments, such an increase to be effec- tive April, 1942, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 47. (On petition of Selectman George E. Lane). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for con- structing a public parking area in connection with the New Haven R. R. Depot in South Weymouth and authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase land on southerly side of Derby Street, approximately 16,600

feet, in the name of Greely, for this purpose, or take any other action in re- lation thereto.
ARTICLE 48. (On petition of Selectman George E. Lane). To see if the Town will accept the provisions of General Laws, (Ter. Ed.) Chapter (43, Section 103A in regard to absentee voting at Town Elections or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 49. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of equipping and supplying the 14th Company of the Massachusetts State Guard Reserve or take any other action in relation thereto.

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING March 2, 1942
Pursuant to a warrant duly issued the annual meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth represented by its duly elected and qualified Town meeting members was held at the hall of the Weymouth High School, East Weymouth on Monday, March 2nd, 1942. 222 Town meeting members being checked by the police stationed in the aisles.
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 o'clock in the evening by Daniel L. O'Donnell, Annual Moderator. The Attested copy of the warrant for the meeting was read by the Town Clerk. Mr. Stein moved that the reading of the articles be dispensed with. So voted. The Rev. Father Harrington, assistant pastor of the Sacred Heart Church of Weymouth Landing was called upon to invoke the Blessing of the Ruler of the Universe upon the delibera- tion of the meeting. Twenty (20) Town meeting members not previously sworn to the duties of their office were at this time sworn by the moderator. The Moderator then called for the articles in the warrant.
