ARTICLE 2. That the sum of $20,000.00 be raised and appropriated; and the Board of Selectmen are hereby instructed to acquire by gift, pur- chase or eminent domain in fee, Lot 1. Block 493, Sheets 41 and 42, as ap- pears in the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth for the year 1946, approxi- mately 897,200 square feet and including the buildings thereon, located at or near the junction of Park Avenue and Pleasant Street, bounded as fol- lows: Beginning at a point on the northeasterly side line of Park Avenue, a State Highway, on the division line between land of M. Agnes Holbrook and William J. Holbrook and land of Joseph M. Coleman and Margaret H. Coleman tenants by the entirety; thence running in a northerly direc- tion by land of said Joseph M. That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $9,700.00 and the Board of Selectmen are hereby instructed to acquire by gift, pur- chase or eminent domain, in fee, Lots 16, 17 and parts of Lots 15 and 20 in Block 100, Sheets 7 and 10 as appears in the Atlas of the Town of Wey- mouth for the year 1946, containing about 328,000 square feet, located north and east of Pearl Street, for the purpose of a site for an elementary school, all in accordance with a plan of Russell H. Whiting, Town Engineer, dated February 1, 1949, on file in the Town Clerk's Office.

That the Town vote to discontinue as a public way that portion of the present highway at the junction of Evans Street running northerly to Standish Street as shown on Block 87, Sheet 7 and bounded westerly by Lots 3 and 4 and easterly by Lots 6 and 26 as appears in the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth for the year 1946; provided further that the Board of Selectmen are hereby authorized to sell such land and to the present abutters.

ARTICLE 5. That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $2,500.00 for the removal of sunken hulks on the Idlewell shore of the Weymouth Fore River provided the Port of Boston Authority provides a similar sum for this purpose; the Board of Selectmen are hereby authorized to enter in contract with the Port of Boston Authority for the completion of this project. $2,500.00 SO VOTED.
