SPECIAL TOWN MEETING, FEBRUARY 25, 1895.
Meeting called to order by the Town Clerk.
Article 1. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting. Edward A. Upton was chosen moderator.
Art. 2. To see if the town will vote to petition the Gen- eral Court for an amendment to section thirteen of chapter one hundred and eighty-seven of the acts of 1894, whereby the time will be extended within which sections one to twelve inclusive of said act shall be ac- cepted, or what it will do about it.
Voted. That the town vote to petition the General Court for an amendment to Section 13, Chapter 187 of the act of 1894 in accordance with Article No. 2 of the warrant for this meeting, and that the same committee chosen January 22, 1894, and authorized and directed to petition the General Court for said act, be authorized and directed in the name and on behalf of the town to petition the General Court for said amendment to said act.
The vote on Article 2 was 21 yes, 28 no.
Voted. To dissolve this meeting.

Twenty-seven votes were cast and Edward A. Up- ton, Esq., was unanimously elected.
Art. 2. To see if the town will revoke its acceptance of Sections 74, 75, 76 and 77 of Chapter 27 of the Pub- lic Statutes, relating to the election of Road Commis- sioners.
Voted. To indefinitely postpone, 91 yes to 51 no.
Motion to reconsider lost, 40 yes to 86 no.
Art. 3. To act upon the acceptance of the reports of town officers as published.
Voted. To accept the report.
Art. 4. To bring in their votes on one ballot for Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, five Selectmen, three Assessors, three Overseers of the Poor, one Road Commissioner for a term of three years, unless the town revokes its acceptance of the law authorizing its election of Road Commissioners, one member of the Municipal Light Board for a term of three years, a Collector of Taxes, three Park Commissioners, a Board of Health consist- ing of three members, one for the term of three years, one for the term of two years and one for the term of one year, beginning with the first Monday of April then next ensuing, three Trustees of the Town Library for a term of three years, and one Trustee of the Town Library for a term of one year, two members of the School Committee for a term of three years, a Fish Committee consisting of three members, three Consta- bles, three Fence Viewers and three Auditors.
Also to bring in their votes in answer to the question " Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquor in this town?" The words Yes and No in an-

swer to that question to constitute the form of such ballot.
Upon a separate ballot, "for the use of women qual- ified according to law to vote for members of the School Committee," to bring in their votes for two members of the School Committee for a term of three years : these ballots will be received at the same t.me and in the same box.
The polls will be kept open four hours at least and for such longer time, not exceeding the hour of sunset on the day aforesaid, as the voters may by vote direct.
The moderator appointed election officers as follows : Supervisors of check list at gate, Albert Parks, J. F. Garraty ; ballot box supervisors, Charles H. Sweetser, William W. Bessey ; ballot clerks, Ezra M. Southworth, Cornelius Donovan ; supervisors of check list at ballot box, J. Wallace Grace and Richard J. Cuff. The above were sworn in by Town Clerk Hartshorne. Counters were then appointed as follows : George E. Hart, Alexander S. Johnston, James Hickey, E. S. Jacob, G. K. Walton, J. A. Sale, E. P. McDonnell, R. F. Draper, Jr., H. W. Walton, M. Low, H. A. Si- monds and Fred C. Patch. The counters were sworn in by the moderator.
The polls were open about 6.30 o'clock. Article 6 was then taken up.
Art. 6. To see if the town will authorize its treasurer to hire money to pay all demands in anticipation of taxes. Voted. On motion of Town Treasurer Skinner,
'That the town treasurer be authorized, with the ap- proval of the selectmen, to hire money in anticipation of the taxes of the current municipal year, and to issue notes of the town therefor; and all debts so incurred shall be paid from said taxes."

Art. 5. To choose all other town officers not required by law to be chosen by ballot.
Voted. That a committee of five, consisting of A. W. Brownell, J. Wallace Grace, Daniel Evans, J. R. Reid and Thomas Kernan, nominate a list of officers and report at an adjourned meeting.
It was then voted that articles 31, 32, 33, 35, 36, 43, 46 and 47, relating to highways, be referred to a committee consisting of Col. C. F. Woodward, Richard Britton, W. G. Strong, G. W. Killorin and W. F. 1 Young.
Voted. That all further town business be postponed until 7.30 o'clock Tuesday evening. It was voted that the polls be closed at 5.15 o'clock.
Motion to reconsider was lost.
The polls closed at 5.15 p. m.

Art. 8. To raise and appropriate money for the following purposes, to wit: For payment of town debt and interest, for school purposes, support of the poor, re-

pairs of highways and bridges, and determine how the same shall be expended ; fire department, public library and reading room, salaries of town officers, town house expenses, miscellaneous expenses, annual rental of hydrants, police department, common and park im- provement, municipal light board and all other neces- sary town charges.
