Article 1. To choose a moderator, by ballot, to preside at said meeting.
Thomas G. O'Connell was elected moderator.
All articles involving the appropriation of money were, by the moderator, declared referred to the town Finance Committee.
Voted. To suspend Sec. 2, Art. 1 of Town By Laws to allow action under Art. 13 and 14. Yes, 44. No, 3. Art. 13. To see if the town will vote to cause a committee of ten to examine into the management of all the muni- cipal departments of the town to see if any improve- ment can be made to save expense to the town without any detriment to the departments.

Art. 4. To see if the town will authorize its treasurer to hire money to pay all demands in anticipation of taxes. Voted. That for the purpose of procuring temporary loans to and for the use of the town of Wakefield the Town Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed with the approval of a majority of the Board of Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the taxes of the present municipal year, and to execute and deliver the note or notes of the town therefor. Any debt or debts incurred by a loan or loans to the Town under this vote shall be paid from the said taxes of the present municipal year.
Art. 5. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray town charges for the ensuing year and make appropriations for the same.

The park commissioners presented their report on the tak- ing of land between Main st. and Lake Quannapowitt and recommended that the town accept and allow the taking according to the plan filed with the town clerk. It was so voted.

Art. 12. To revise and accept the list of jurors prepared and posted by the Selectmen.
The Selectmen presented List of Jurors which after being amended was accepted by the town.
Art. 15. To see if the town will raise and appropriate the sum of $12,500 for maintenance, and the sum of $5,000 for extensions, for the use of the Water Department.

Art. 16. To see if the town will raise and appropriate the sum of $100 to pay the arrears of salary of the secretary of the board of Water Commissioners, or what they will do about it.
Voted. $100, and that salary of secretary of Water Com- missioners be discontinued.
Art. 17. To see if the town will appropriate the surplus of the Water Department income in excess of the ex- penditures, for the use of the Water Department on such necessary repairs and improvements as may not yield five per cent increase of revenue, or what they will do about it.
Voted. To appropriate balance on hand at end of fiscal year Jan. 31, 1905, $6036.54 for new boilers and for 8-inch main from Broadway extension to the end of 6-inch main on Foundry street.

To see if the town will vote to accept the provi- sions of sections 178, 179, 180 of chapter 102 of the Revised Laws of Massachusetts, relating to picnic groves, giving the selectmen authority to grant licenses, and make such rules and regulations as they deem pro- per for the management uf same.

Art. 36. To see if the town will vote to macadamize Park street, and raise and appropriate the sum of fifteen hundred dollars therefor, or what they will do about it.

Art. 44. To see if the town will instruct the Light Com- missioners to establish an electric light on Elm street, near Elm square, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor.

That the Board of Sewer Commissioners is hereby authorized and instructed to construct a sewer through, and in Gould and Converse streets from existing sewer to Jordan avenue, and the sum of $2,000 be appropria- ted from the receipts from sewer assessments for de- fraying the expenses thereof.
Art. 3. To see if the town will make an additional appro- riation for the highway department.
Voted. $2,000.
Voted. That the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be authorized to hire $2,000, for a term not exceeding one year.

Art. 14. To see if the town will vote to appoint a commit- tee to investigate as to the cost and advisability of the town equipping the fire department with a combination wagon, and report at the next annual town meeting, or what they will do about it.
Moved to refer to committee of five, consisting of C. N. Winship, W. E. Cade, R. S. Stout, Thomas Hickey, and Levi Flanders to inquire into cost, and report at the next annual spring meeting.
Art. 15. To see what action, if any, the town will take in relation to changing the boundary line between Wake- field and the city of Melrose at Main street.
That the town through its representative petition the next General Court to change the boundary Ilne of Mel- rose and Wakefield at Main street. in the manner shown on plan drawn by W. Danley Hunter, engineer, dated Oct. 24, 1905, on file at the Town Clerk's office. Voted. To take up Article 6.
Voted. $2,077, $577 of which is to be placed in the tax levy of 1906, and the balance to be covered by notes of $500, in three annual payments.
Art. 16. To see if the town will authorize its treasurer, with the approval of its Selectmen, to hire a sum of money sufficient to meet the appropriations made at

this meeting, on a term not exceeding one year, and to issue the notes of the town therefor.
Voted. That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be authorized to hire the sum of $25,332 for a term not exceeding one year, to meet the appro- priations made at this meeting, and to issue the notes of the town therefor.
