Meeting called to order at 7:33 P. M. by Moderator Thomas G. O'Connell, Article 6 being in order.
On motion by Harry Marshall:
Voted: That Articles 22, 23, 24, 27, 26, 25, 28, and 29 be now taken up in the order named. The vote was unanimous.
Mr. Marshall explained that this was necessary to cover legal technicalities, it being necessary to appropriate $5,500 to enter the tax-levy prior to the vote on the Water and Sewerage Department's articles calling for bond issues for new mains.

Article 22. G. Walton Estate; also in a new development running westerly from Vernon Street, owned by E. J. Butler, approximately 450 feet; and any other work of a like nature; and raise and appro- priate a sufficient sum of money therefor and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow or issue notes or bonds therefor .- Water and Sewerage Board.
Article 24. To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer in Lassell Street, from Hanson Street southerly, approximately 350 feet and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money there- for and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow the necessary money therefor and issue notes or bonds of the Town .- Board of Health.
Article 27. To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer in Lowell Street, from the intersection of Main Street, northwesterly ap- proximately 650 feet and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow or issue notes or bonds therefor .- Board of Health.
Article 26. To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer in Main Street from the existing sewer at Cordis Street northerly to Lowell Street, approximately 2980 feet and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor and author- ize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow and issue notes or bonds therefor .- Board of Health.
Article 25. To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer in the following location as shown on plan entitled "Plan Showing Pro-

posed Sewer for Brook Avenue," on file in Water and Sewer Department Office; commencing at a manhole in Wiley place, at Station 6+64.43, thence southerly in land of the town 195 feet to angle; thence southeasterly in land of the town 161 feet, and in land of Camella and Edith Spinalla 294 feet, also in Sumner Street, so-called, a private way 30.5 feet, and in land of Samuel Tropiano 136 feet, and in land of Frank Palmerini and Chiara Croce 19.5 feet to an angle; thence northeasterly to Brook Avenue 24 feet; thence north- easterly in Brook Avenue approximately 340 feet, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor or authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow and issue notes or bonds therefor; and authorize the Water and Sewerage Board of the Town of Wakefield to take by eminent domain under the authority of Chapter 377, Acts of 1900, and any other authority thereto enabling them an easement across the private way known as Sumner Street and in the land of the owners herein mentioned, the center line of which is described as follows: Commencing at the center line of Brook Avenue at the southerly end thereof thence running southwesterly 24 feet; thence turning and run- ning northwesterly in a straight course about 480 feet to the southeasterly line of land of Town of Wakefield at a point distant southwesterly 53 feet from land of Pica measured along said southeasterly land of Town of Wakefield, said easement taking is to be 10 feet wide its entire length measured equally 5 feet from said center line on each side the owners of property through which said easement is to be taken so far as known are as above set forth in this article .- Board of Health.

To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer in Lowell Street, from the intersection of Main Street and north- easterly to Walton Lane, approximately 1375 feet, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow or issue notes or bonds therefor. -Board of Health.
Article 29. To see if the Town will authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer in a private way leading from Lowell Street, called Walton Lane, ap- proximately 500 feet, commencing at the center line of Lowell Street and extending southwesterly in said Walton Lane, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor or authorize the Treasurer, with the ap- proval of the Selectmen, to borrow or issue notes or bonds

of the town therefor; and authorize the Water and Sewerage Board of the Town of Wakefield to take by eminent domain under the authority of Chapter 377 of the Acts of 1900 an easement in the whole of said private way for the laying, constructing, repairing, maintaining, and operating the aforesaid sewer therein or purchase said easement, and appropriate a sufficient sum of money for compensation for said easement; said sewer and the location thereof and said Walton Lane are shown on a plan on file in the office of the Water and Sewer De- partment entitled "Plan Showing Proposed Location for Sewer in Walton Lane."-Board of Health.

Such mains to be not less than six inches but less than sixteen inches in diameter. Such appropriation shall be spent by the Water and Sewerage Board, and shall be raised by issuing the amount of $50,000.00 in bonds of the Town which the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, is hereby authorized to issue and sell such bonds to be payable in annual payments of $5,000.00 each year for ten years.
The Moderator appointed the following tellers to count the vote: Messrs. White and Fazio in the South; Tredin- nick and Walsh in the Center; Tenney and Morgan in the North section.
The count of the vote showed that 302 persons had voted in the affirmative, and none in the negative, and the Moderator declared the motion carried by a unani- mous vote.
ARTICLE 23
On motion by Finance Committee:
Voted Unanimously: That the Town authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to lay water mains in the following streets: In Keeling Road, in a new develop- ment running northerly from Lowell Street, approxi- mately 400 feet; in new streets running between Main Street and Lowell Street, in a new development in the former A. G. Walton Estate; also in a new development running westerly from Vernon Street, owned by E. J. Butler, approximately 450 feet; and other extensions in new developments of similar kind; and appropriate $5,000.00 therefor, and authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow and issue notes or bonds therefor, payable $1,000 each year for a period of 5 years.

Voted: That the Town authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to construct a sewer as described in Article 24, and raise and appropriate the sum of $2,000.00 therefor.

To see if the Town will accept from the Home Owners' Loan Corporation an easement for surface drainage in a private way called Marion rd, which extends easterly from Vine st, as shown on a plan called "Vine Street for Acceptance, December 8, 1939," said easement being in the southerly half of said Marion rd, being a strip twenty feet wide bounded southerly about one hundred fifty feet by the southerly line of said Marion rd and bounded northerly about one hundred fifty feet by the center line of said Marion rd .- Board of Selectmen.

Voted: That the Town accept from the Home Owners' Loan Association an easement for surface drainage in Marion Road, as set forth in Article 8.
ARTICLE 9
To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to purchase at a price not exceeding $2,500.00, two certain parcels of land containing about twenty acres situated at the northerly end of Lyons Lane in the Montrose sec- tion, the supposed owners being Fleda W. Cheever and Michael F. Lyons, the same to be used as a source of gravel supply for the Town of Wakefield, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor .- Board of Selectmen.

ARTICLE 10
To see if the Town will raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to be expended on the Lafayette Building for the following purposes: To complete the installation of the ventilating system and grills; for the laying of a floor in the Welfare office; for the purchase and installa- tion of electrical fixtures in the new room on the second floor; for pipe fittings for three railings on outside cellar entrances .- Board of Selectmen.
