To see if the Town will vote to accept as a public way, the road called Magnolia Terrace, said road having been constructed by private interests under Town supervision and in accordance with Town specifications, run- ning from Lowell Street northerly approximately 508 feet to its intersection with Woodbriar Road, said street being more fully shown on a plan enti- tled "Revised Plan and Profile of Magnolia Terrace in Wakefield, Massa- chusetts, by Emmons & Fleming, Registered Land Surveyors, Reading, Massachusetts" and dated December, 1956.

ARTICLE 31
To hear and act upon the report of the Board of Public Works in laying out Town ways under the Betterment Act in substantially the same loca- tions as the various private ways listed below, and to authorize the taking of slope easements in land adjoining the locations of the said proposed Town ways in accordance with the General Laws, Chapter 82, Section 32b:
a. Woodville Circle - beginning at its intersection with Farm Street and extending about 250 feet northwesterly to a turn around.
b. North Emerson Street - beginning at its intersection with Elm Street and running northwesterly about 920 feet to the intersection with Elm Square.
c. Fellsmere Avenue - beginning at its intersection with Esmond Avenue and running northwesterly about 900 feet to the Wakefield-Stone- ham Town Line.
and that the Town vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money for the original construction of public ways or the extension or widening thereof, including land damages and cost of pavement and sidewalks laid at the time of said construction or for the construction of stone, block, brick or other pavement of similar lasting character under specifications approved by the Department of Public Works or authorize the treasurer to borrow with the approval of the Selectmen and issue notes or bonds of the Town therefor, and/or by transfer from other available balances.

Voted: To accept and adopt, under the Betterment Act, the report of the Board of Public Works on the acceptance and layout of the street described in Article #31, Paragraph B and that the Town authorize the taking of slope easements in land adjoining the location of the said pro- posed Town Way in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 82, Section 32B of the General Laws; and further that for the original construction of North Emerson Street including land damages and cost of pavement and sidewalks with bituminous Concrete Curbing, laid at the time of said construction or for the construction of stone, block brick or other permanent pavement of similar lasting character under specifications approved by the Department of Public Works, and to provide therefor the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $32,400.
An amendment by Mr. Morton for the Board of Public Works to in- clude paragraph "C" (Fellsmere Avenue) at a cost of $54,550, making the total $86,950, was voted in the negative.
ARTICLE 32
To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, or transfer from other available funds, a sufficient sum of money for the Reconstruction of Foundry Street from Maple Street to Broadway, and to authorize the Board of Public Works to acquire by purchase or by eminent domain pro- ceedings, rights and easements necessary in connection therewith, or take any other action in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Public Works to lay and/or relay water mains of not less than 6 inches but less than 16 inches in diameter in any streets or private ways, and for any other work of like construction where pipes of the same dimensions as mentioned above are used; to pay therefor, raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money and/or authorize the treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow and issue notes or bonds of the Town therefor, and/or by transfer from other available balances.

Voted: To authorize the Board of Public Works to lay and/or relay water mains of not less than 6 inches but less than 16 inches in diameter in streets or private ways, and for any other work of like construction where pipes of the same dimensions are used, and to pay the cost therefor the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $90,000.
Having received the necessary two-thirds vote, the Moderator declared the motion carried.
ARTICLE 34
To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate and/or to transfer from available funds a sufficient sum of money to construct sidewalks on various public streets in the Town, and to authorize the Board of Public Works to acquire by purchase or by eminent domain proceedings, rights and easements necessary in connection therewith for construction, to slope land back from street lines and to construct retaining walls. This work to be done under the Betterment Act.

Voted: To raise and appropriate the sum of $21,000. to carry out the purposes of Article 34.
ARTICLE 35
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Public Works to purchase or take by eminent domain proceedings the existing six-inch sewer line in Walker Terrace and take an easement, 20 feet in width, for sewer and water purposes, three hundred feet more or less, northerly along Walker Terrace from Yale Avenue, and see if the Town will extend the sewer in Walker Terrace fifty (50) feet northerly from the present dead end manhole in Walker Terrace, and to raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds, a sufficient sum of money to carry out the purposes of this article.

poses, three hundred feet more or less, northerly along Walker Terrace from Yale Avenue, and see if the Town will extend the sewer in Walker Terrace fifty (50) feet northerly from the present dead end manhole in Walker Terrace, and to raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds, a sufficient sum of money to carry out the purposes of this article and to provide, therefore, the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $400.00.
Having received the necessary two-thirds vote, the Moderator declared the motion carried.
ARTICLE 36
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Public Works to construct sewers across private land and in or across highways here- inafter named, and various other streets:
a. Main Street from a point 100 feet southerly of the existing man- hole at the intersection of Main and Hanson Streets; then southerly in Main Street approximately 780 feet to a manhole; thence northeasterly across private land approximately 300 feet to a manhole at the intersec- tion of Plaza Road and Howard Street; thence easterly 200 feet along Pla- za Road to the intersection of Hawes Avenue; thence southerly 240 feet to an existing manhole in Hawley Road.
b. On a street formerly called Spring Street Extension from a man- hole at the intersection of Renwick Road easterly approximately 425 feet to a dead end manhole.
c. Nahant Street from a dead end manhole near Hart Street south- easterly approximately 450 feet to the intersection of Melvin Street.
d. Harding Road from a dead end manhole northeasterly approximate- ly 550 feet to intersect with proposed sewer on Nahant Street.
e. Wilson Road from a dead end manhole northerly approximately 180 feet to intersection of Coolidge Road and from a dead end manhole southerly approximately 120 feet to intersection of Coolidge Road.
f. Coolidge Road from manhole at intersection of Wilson Road north- easterly approximately 105 feet to a manhole and from a dead end man- hole southwesterly approximately 120 feet to a manhole; thence across private land approximately 240 feet to a manhole in Harding Road.
g. Acorn Avenue from a dead end manhole northerly approximately 270 feet to Oak Street.
h. Morgan Avenue from an existing manhole at the intersection of Spring Street approximately 220 feet southeasterly to a dead end manhole.
i. From an existing manhole in Prospect Street at the intersection of Park Avenue, approximately 300 feet in Park Avenue to the Stoneham- Wakefield Town line, and in Bellevue Road from the Stoneham-Wakefield Town line approximately 250 feet to the intersection of Park Avenue and Bellevue Road.
j. Elm Street from an existing manhole at the Elm Street and Parker Road intersection westerly approximately 650 feet to a dead end manhole.
k. Sweetser Street from an existing manhole on Sweetser Street south- westerly approximately 90 feet to a dead end manhole.

2. From the high point on Strathmore Road southerly approxim- ately 650 feet to the intersection of Eustis Avenue Extension; thence south- westerly approximately 400 feet along Eustis Avenue extension to an exist- ing manhole on Morrison Road West.
n. Friend Street (northerly portion) - from a dead end manhole southeasterly approximately 450 feet to Eustis Avenue; and (southerly por- tion) from a dead end manhole near Parker Road westerly approximately 370 feet to a manhole; thence northerly approximately 350 feet to Eustis Avenue; thence southwesterly along Eustis Avenue approximately 400 feet to Strathmore Road and thence continuing southwesterly along Eustis Ave- nue Extension approximately 400 feet to an existing manhole on Morrison Road West.

p. Forest Street - from a dead end manhole near No. 10 easterly under the B. & M. Railroad approximately 360 feet to Main Street. and to see if the Town will raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money therefor and/or authorize the treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen to borrow and issue notes or bonds of the Town therefor and/or appropriate by transfer from available balances and authorize the Board of Public Works to purchase or take by right of eminent domain easements in and over private land necessary for the construction, main- tenance and repair of said sewers.

ARTICLE 38
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Public Works to file in behalf of the Town an application (in form and manner required by the United States Government and in conformity with Public Law 560, 83rd Congress) and do whatever else may be required to obtain an advance, made by the United States Government to the Town of Wakefield, Massa- chusetts, to defray the cost of an engineering investigation, report and preliminary plans for an overall drainage program, and to raise and ap- propriate a sufficient sum of money to carry out the purposes of this article. -Board of Public Works.

Voted: To authorize the Board of Public Works to file in behalf of the Town an application under the provisions of Section 702 of Public Law 560 as enacted by the 83rd Congress and do whatever else might be re- quired to obtain an advance made by the United States Government to the Town of Wakefield to defray the cost of an engineering investigation, report and preliminary plans for an over all drainage program in the Town of Wakefield.
ARTICLE 39
To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Public Works to purchase, or take by eminent domain proceedings, for a standpipe for the Department of Public Works the following described parcel of land:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the westerly sideline of Hopkins Street and the northerly boundary of the Route 128 taking line; thence NORTHERLY along the westerly sideline of Hopkins Street about 230 feet to the southerly sideline of South Street; thence NORTHWESTER- LY along the southerly sideline of South Street about 210 feet to a point; thence SOUTHWESTERLY about 370 feet to a point on the northerly boundary of Route 128 taking line; thence EASTERLY along the Route 128 taking line about 450 feet to the point of beginning. Said parcel contains approximately 2.0 acres and is further described as Lots 7B2, 6A1, 6B, 6C and 6E1 on Wakefield Assessors' Plat 4; and to raise and appropriate a suf- ficient sum of money therefor and/or authorize the treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen to borrow and issue notes or bonds of the Town therefor and/or appropriate by transfer from available balances. -Board of Public Works.

ARTICLE 40
To see what sum the Town will raise and appropriate by borrowing, or raise and appropriate from the tax levy or appropriate from available funds and transfer for the purpose of constructing a stand-pipe, and to authorize the Board of Public Works to proceed with the construction of said work and structure and to enter into contracts and agreements in respect there- to, or what it will do in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 41
To see if the Town will vote to amend the General Bylaws of the Town by adding the following to Chapter XIII thereof :
Section 2. Rowboats, canoes and sailing boats shall have the right of way at all times.
Section 3. All power-driven craft must keep at least 150 feet distant from other boats, rafts, floats, or the shore except when prevented by a narrow channel or when approaching or leaving other boats, rafts, floats or the shore. In such latter exceptions, the speed of all boats shall be re- duced to headway speed so as to provide full visibility and control and prevent their wash from being thrown into or causing excessive rocking to other boats, rafts, or floats.
Section 4. No person shall operate any power-driven craft at a speed exceeding 10 miles per hour. The only exception to this rule will be the emergency landing and subsequent take off of aircraft, or the use of a police or other boat in rescue work.

Overlook Road - from Overlook Road southerly through private lands; thence easterly through private lands; thence southerly through private lands to the Wakefield-Melrose Town line; thence southerly through private lands in Melrose to an existing drain in Morgan Street, Melrose, a total distance of 450 feet.
e. Fellsmere Avenue - from an existing manhole in Fellsmere Avenue through private land to an existing drain in Spring Street, a total distance of about 260 feet.
f. Spring Street - from an existing culvert on Greenwood Street 500 feet northerly to intersection of Spring Street; thence northwesterly on Spring Street 500 feet to an existing brook.
g. Lowell Street - from an existing manhole at the Lowell and Ver- non Street intersection northwesterly about 500 feet to a manhole opposite the Dolbeare School.
h. Curtis Street - from Preston Street northeasterly about 850 feet to a dead end manhole.
i. Wakefield Brook - from the present end near Safetyloid, extending southwesterly about 250 feet.
j. Lowell Street - drainage from Lowell Street to be piped through private lands to brook at No. 550 Lowell Street.
k. Pine Street - from Kendrick Road southerly 650 feet to Pitman Avenue.
1. Howard Street - to extend an existing drain about 150 feet to a brook at No. 20 Howard Street.
m. Harding Road - to extend an existing drain about 70 feet to an existing drain near No. 12 Harding Road.
