During 1945 the Fire Department answered 11 calls:
2 Chimney fires
4 Brush fires
1 Car fire
1 House fire
1 Bandstand fire
2 Grass fires
The Department has added a Fog Nozzle to its equipment. It will be a great help in attic, cellar and oil fires.

Traffic Officer and Police Report
Regular traffic was light the first half of the year with only one accident.
The second half there were seven (7) accidents. These all happened at the end of gas rationing in September.
Investigated one break in which nothing was stolen. Special night duty, 80 hours.
Traffic duty, 90 hours.
I believe in the year of 1946 there will be a great increase in traffic, also accidents.
Resolved for 1946:
Drive with care. Don't take chances. Stop before enter- ing intersections. This may save a great deal of suffering.
ALBERT W. COX,
Acting Chief of Police

During the year there have been 34 juvenile books added to the library by purchase, a list of which is given herewith.
On October 20th Mrs. Elizabeth P. Cox resigned as Libra- rian as of July 7th and October 22nd Mrs. Avis B. Bixby was appointed Librarian. During the interim Miss Esther J. Ham- ilton had been Acting Librarian.
As Mrs. Dorothy L. Fittz had moved to Dover, Mass., she resigned as a member of the Trustees December 5, 1945 and at a joint meeting of the Selectmen and the remaining Library Trust- ees held December 19th, Mrs. Eleanor R. Eaton was elected to fill the vacancy.
