To the Honorable City Council :
The Auditor, to whom was referred the within report of George W. Wheeler, Esq., City Treasurer, has carefully examined the same, and finds it correctly cast, to agree with the books and sustained by proper vouchers.
The books are kept in a neat and systematic manner, and are balanced to January 6, 1862, leaving a balance of $5,712 55 in the hands of the Treasurer.
All the papers and vouchers appertaining to the Treasurer's depart- ment are properly filed in the office, and the Treasurer has evidently been faithful in the discharge of his duties.
