October 5, 1949. The Selectmen in a meeting called for the purpose of appointing a Board of Appeals, duly met and appointed Richard H. Whitford, Harris Etter, and Charles A. Gunn, Sr., Board of Appeals for the Town of Eastham. Terms of office: Richard H. Whitford, term expires 1952; Charles A. Gunn, Sr., term expires 1951; Harris H. Etter, term expires 1950.

The newly appointed members of the Eastham Appeal Board met this day (October 15, 1949) and organized as follows :
Richard H. Whitford was elected Chairman and Sec'y.
Following the election of officers the appeal of Clarence E. Walker from a decision of the Planning Board was con- sidered and by unanimous vote it was decided to grant him a public hearing at as early a date as possible.
A notice of the hearing was forwarded to the Cape Cod Standard-Times for publication Tuesday, October 11, if possible, but Wednesday, October 12th, at the latest and hearing date set for October 26th or 27th depending upon the publishing date of the notice.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 1949
The Special Town Meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M. Tellers appointed were Alonzo Gill and Harold Arnold and they were duly sworn in by the Town Clerk.
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from unappropriated funds in the Treasury, the sum of nine hun- dred ($900.00), to the School Account for additional insur- ance for the school house.
Motion to indefinitely postpone this article made and withdrawn.
Motion then made to transfer $900.00 for school insur- ance from available funds in the Treasury lost 13 to 18.
Later motion to rescind action taken under Article 1 was lost, 19 to 13.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from unappropriated funds in the treasury the sum of six hundred dollars ($600.00) to the school account to go towards an additional bus until the next Annual Town Meeting or take any action relative thereto.

Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from unappropriated funds in the Treasury the sum of one thou- sand seventy-five dollars ($1,075.00) for Chapter 81 High- ways or take any action relative thereto.
Voted to transfer the sum of $1,075.00 from Available Funds in the Treasury to Highways, Chapter 81.

Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a gift from the Eastham Volunteer Fireman's Association a combination resusticator, inhalator and aspirator or take any action relative thereto.
Voted to accept this gift, and tender the Eastham Vol- unteer Fireman's Association a vote of thanks for their deep interest in promoting the safety of persons in need of assis- tance as provided by this modern aid to life saving.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from unappropriated funds in the Treasury the following sums of money to the following accounts from Available Funds in the Treasury : Town Landings, $500.00; Town Hall, $400.00; Boat Meadow Account, $430.00; Welfare Account, $600.00.
Voted to transfer the above amounts to the stated ac- counts.
