The Beaver Brook Bridge has been rebuilt under the super- vision of a state engineer whose service was given. It is hoped that this road can be put in good shape in order to make a short cut from Forge Village to the state road.
There are many roads however that need a lot of work. Many side roads should be widened, graveled and shaped up and with a liberal amount of money this coming year a great deal of this can be accomplished.
The drainage problem near the Town Hall we trust has been taken care of. Through the generosity of Mr. P. E. Wright arrangements have been made to turn this water through his land. The layout was made by a state engineer.
The State and County Aid Roads require close attention as the heavy trucking soon breaks them up and continuous patching has to be done.
The snow removal equipment is in first class condition and ready to cope with any storms. The public must bear in mind that there is over one hundred miles of road and every road can not be cared for at the same time.
The following is a list of equipment now owned by the town:
31
12 Ton Steam Roller. 1
2 5 Ton Holt Tractors with Sargent Snow Ploughs.
1 Fordson Grader.
1 Chevrolet Dump Truck.
1 Watering Cart.
1 Horse Drawn Grader.
1 1-2 yd. Drag Line. ยท
2 Tar Kettles.
1 Truck Snow Plough.
Respectfully,
A. AUSTIN HEALY, Superintendent of Highways.
We believe the above reports give a very satisfactory statement of conditions.
Respectfully submitted,
FRANK L. FURBUSH BURTON D. GRIFFITH WM. R. TAYLOR
Selectmen.
