Form of the Covenant to be administered to those who join in full Communion with the Church.
You do now in the presence of the great God, and this chris- tian Afsembly, profefs your belief in the holy Scriptures, that they are the word of God, and the only rule of our faith and obedience, You believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Son of God and the only Mediator between God and Man, and with all your heart, you desire to give up yourself to God, in an everlast- ing covenant, and to accept of Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Redeemer, in the way prescribed in the Gofpel, and solemnly promise [47] that by the help of divine grace, you will fincerely endeavour to conform to the rules & precepts of our holy religion, to forsake the sins and vanities of this evil world, and to approve yourself a true diciple of Jesus Christ, in all good behaviour, to- wards God and towards man. And, particularly, you promise, that you will endeavour to walk with this Church, while you have opportunity, in the exercise of christian affection, in conforming to the regulations, and submitting to the discipline of the Church, in all things, agreeably to what you do know, or may hereafter know, to be your duty.
Do you make this profession, and take upon you the obligation of this Covenant? I then declare you to be a Member in [48] full Communion with the Church of Christ, and we who are members of the Church, do promise and engage, that by the help of the divine Spirit, we will make it our fincere aim and en- deavour, to treat you in every respect, as a member of the fame body with ourselves, watching over you and that for your good, with a spirit of meeknefs, love and tendernefs, earnestly praying, that the Lord God, the great Head of the Church, would dwell among us, that his blessed Spirit, may be upon us, and that his glorious kingdom may be advanced by us. Voted. I. Wether the Church be of the mind to chufe a Com- mittee to receive what is due to this Church by vertue of the last Will and Testamont of Mrs Anne Mills, late of Watertown de- ceafed. It pafsed in the affirmative.
Voted. 2. That Lieut Sam" Stearns, Deacon John Coollidge Deacon Joseph Mafon, Lieut Joseph Coollidge & M' Nath" Har- ris be the Church's Comittee to act on their behalf in reference to the aforsaid Legacy.
Voted. 3. Whether the Church doth invest the faid Comittee with full Power to recover and receive, in their behalf, the whole that is or fhall be due to this Church by virtue of the aforsaid last Will and Testament of Mrs Anne Mills, of the Executors of faid Will, or of fuch of them as.fhall be furviving, and in the name of the Church to give faid Executors a Difcharge or Difcharges

Put to vote, whether the Church be of the mind that Daniel Whitney, (he having explicitly owned the Covenant among, and fubmitted himself to the Watch and Difcipline of thofe who acted as a third Church in Watertown, and having a Child baptized by Mr Robert Sturgeon after the Refult of the Council of Churches met at watertown on May 1. 1722, ) could juftly claim the privi- lege of Baptifm for his Children, before he had made Satisfaction.

Voted. That Roger Adams & his Wife be dismissed from this Chh, & be recommended to the Church under the pastoral Care of the Rev. Mr Greenough of Newton. They having signified to the Chh that it is their desire to receive fuch a Dismission.
At a meeting of the Church of Christ in Watertown on Mon- day the 21t of Oct. 1799, the following Votes were passed Viz.
I. Voted, that all persons who have or shall hereafter own the Covenant shall enjoy the Privilege of having their Children Bap- tized.
2. Voted, that all the Flagons & other pewter vessells belong- ing to the Church, shall be fold as foon as may be & that two Sil- ver Tankards shall be purchased for the use of the Church, with the money belonging to the Church which has not been otherwise appropriated. & that Dea" Leathe & Dea" Whitney be requested to purchase them.

Vote 3ª. Voted, that in all future Contributions of the Church for the fupply of the Communion Table, the Members of the Chh present shall contribute 25 Cents each, & that the money then con- tributed be paid into the hands of the Deacons.
4. Voted That whenever the fums of money which have been contributed for the supply of the Communion Table shall have been expended, an account of such expenditure shall be rendered to the Pastor by the Deacons, & that a time be appointed by the Pastor for another Contribution to be held by the Church.
5. Voted that in all future Contributions of the Church, for the fupply of the Communion Table, which may be appointed by the Pastor, the amount of the fums thus Contributed be afsertained by the Pastor, & an account thereof be kept by him.

At a meeting of the Church of Christ in Watertown August 7th 1805-held for the purpose ot choosing fome fuitable Person to fill the office of a Deacon in faid Church, the Brethren voted by written votes, upon counting of which it appeared that Col. Amos Bond was unanimously chosen to faid office.

Vote I That the Sacrament of the Lords-Supper be adminis- tered in future on the first Sabbath of every month in the year.
Vote 2 That a Sacramental Lecture on each Friday preceed- ing the first Lords-Day of the following month, Viz, January March, May, July, September & November
Vote 3 That the Treasurer of the Church be requested, to ob- tain a renewal of all the Notes belonging to the Church now in his pofsession as foon as may be after the first of January next.
Vote 4. That the Treasurer be requested to adjust his account, as foon as may be, & give a Note upon Interest for the ballance, & keep the fame on file, with the other Notes belonging to the Church.

That whenever any three members of the Church desire that a meeting of the Church be holden, they shall agree upon the time & place of such meeting & fhall make application to the Pastor, to furnish them with a notification for the purpose, & shall pro- ceed to notify all the members of the Church accordingly.

To full communion in the church at Watertown was admitted, 1637 (or previously) Capt Patrick, once of the prince of orange's guards and made a member of the church in order to receive the rights of a freeman and be qualified to take the command of the Massachusetts men in the Pequod War-see Hutchinson Vol. I p 76.

Ye 5 of December 86. I admitted 9 to full comunion, mr Samuell Thacher & his wife Mary, Sarah Sawin, & Judith Sawin (ye wives of Muning & John) Margret Taylor (my maid)-Jofeph Underwood, mis Train, Jofeph Whitney's wife viz Martha, & Joanna Stone. Before y" Admifsion, I fd 3 things to all prefent, (I) I fhowed wt made ym worthy & yt before Gd, & men, as to y former only grace did, & as to ye later both knowledge, & a blame- less life (2) yt all thefe were able to give me a particular account of gds dealing wth y' foules-(3) yt I had defired ym all to fay fome- thing if ye could at yr Admifsion for ye edification of others
