I coming for N. England, after fome time, was fett apt for ye church of Watertown viz on Oct. 6. 86-wt out ye Impofition of hands, I preached, others prayed &c I Pmifed to be of wt vfe I could dureing my continuance amongft ymn &c. ye particulars are too long &c.


The firft Sacmt by me in W. was on ye 31 of Oct. 86. many yr &c. I preached on Cant. 8. 6, on ye firft Doct &c. At ye be- gining I exhorted ym to ye right Sanctifying of ye name of gd in this Ord. wt was fd at it I have forgotten, efp becaufe I purpofed never more to putt down wt I fd, & wt I may do for ye future fhall be very fhort. The 9 Sacrmt we had vpon ye 20th of November 'S7. ye weather proving better y" I thought for &c, very many yr, from Dedham, Wooborn, Baftable, Cambridge, old church in Bofton, & ye New church in Bofton, Cambridge Village, Concord, Dorchefter, Roxbury, Newbury, Charlftown, Waymouth, &c ye text was in Col. 3. II. ye dayes being fhort I only fd before we begunn, yt our work was now to Remember X, & it ought to be 2 wayes, viz wth Joy, & wth Conformity &c Gal. 6. 24. After we had donn (for I pafse by wt was dropped all a long over ye Elemts) I fpoke both to Partakers & Spectators in one, viz This was Crying blood, as all blood is, & it cryes these 3 wayes, (1) It cryes after y, here I ftood vp & fpake to ye Spectators (wch were very many on every fide) & held ye cup in my hand, & fd this blood cryed to ym, and yt for 3 things (which were prefsed) viz yt ye wid Come to it, yt ye wid drink of it, yt ye wid wafh in it, it cryes as in Pv. 9. 2 to 8 v. G.
