"Elkanah Welch bought seven acres of the town at Rock Meadow Plain, Dec. 27. 1759. Ile built a house and lived there. See Middlesex Deeds, Book 125. Page 36. This land is situated on easterly side of Blanchard Lane in Burlington, close to the Woburn line, and about a quarter of a mile east of the Middlesex Turnpike. See deed from Augusta R. Duren to Gorman, recorded Book 2656, Page 441. The locus is the northerly part of "Oak Tree Pasture" shown on Plan recorded with Middlesex Deeds, Plan Book 15. Plan 34.
Another Elkanah Welch died in Charlestown, in 1755, and his will is on record. It makes no mention of any other Elkanah.

Boston, September 11 .- On Sunday Night last dy'd at Woburn, Capt. Seth Wymon, very much lamented. He was a man of Religion, Probity. Courage and Conduct, and hearty in the Service of his Country against the Indian Enemy. He was an Ensign under Capt. Lovewell in his several Marches to the Eastward; and for his uncommon Bravery at the late mem- orable Fight at Pigwacket, his Hon. the Lient. Governour granted him a ('aptain's Commission .- "The New-England Courant" (Boston), Saturday, September 11, 1725.
