EDWARD A. DOYLE, mill employee, was born at Nova Scotia, June 10, 1883, son of Garret J. and Agnes Curtis Doyle. May 7, 1918 he married Miss Ethel L. Hayes, younger daugh- ter of John D. and Letitia Currie Hayes, and she was born at Abbot, Aug. 15, 1897. They have one daughter, Evelyn Lavon, who married Garfield Harris and they live in Cicero, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Harris have a son, Garfield Edward, born Oct. 5, 1941.
FRED E. DRAKE, unmarried, son of Herbert E. and Ida N. Watson Drake, was born at Parkman, May 18, 1889. He

attended the public schools of Greenville. Mr. Drake is an electrician and has conducted a business in Guilford for four- teen years.
LETTIE HUDSON DRAKE, was born at Abbot, April 14, 1877, the only child of Micajah and the late Mabel Packard Hudson. She attended the Guilford schools and graduated from Bangor Business College in 1897. Was organist at the Methodist church for fourteen years. She was married to Arthur W. Drake of Albion, who was born Nov. 4, 1876. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Came to Guil- ford about 1900, first clerking in the clothing store of the late Charles F. Scales, later owning and conducting the busi- ness as long as his health would permit. After several years of ill-health he died at Guilford, Oct. 13, 1939. Children, Wilmer H., now in Glendale, Calif., and Katherine D., now Mrs. Geo. C. Howard of Guilford.
MRS. MAE McKUSICK DRAKE, prominent in Woman's Chris- tian Temperance Union work throughout the County and beyond, was born at Parkman, May 20, 1873, the daughter of William S. and Sarah Estes McKusick. Aug. 26, 1911 she was married to Martin E. Drake, son of Salmon and Betsey Gilbert Drake and born Aug. 1, 1861. He died at Guilford, June 1, 1937. In early life Mr. Drake was a prosperous farmer, but in 1919 they moved to Guilford and he was employed in the woolen mill. They had one child, Betty M., now Mrs. William L. Bates.
WILMER HUDSON DRAKE, the only son of Lettie Hudson and the late Arthur W. Drake, was born at Guilford, Dec. 26, 1907. He attended Guilford High, graduated from Wil- braham Academy in 1926, and attended Bowdoin College and is a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Is a member of the Methodist church, Guilford. He was in the clothing business, Guilford, six years before going to Glendale, California in 1940, where he took employment with the Lockhead Vega Aircraft Corp'n at Burbank and has gradu- ally been promoted. Feb. 27, 1930 he married Miss Evelyn True, a registered nurse of Augusta. Children, Hilton and Judith.
WALTER F. DRAPER, was born at Guilford, Nov. 3, 1894, son of Fred H. and Myra Piper Draper. He lives on the farm where he was born, and raises blooded Jersey stock, and operates a milk route into the village. Nov. 21, 1915

he married Miss Beatrice Wilson, born to James and Esther Holden Wilson at Dennistown Plantation, Aug. 11, 1894. Their son, Ashley, married Miss Neota Wise and they have a daughter, Ashlie Ann. Their daughter, Myra, married Alonzo Mclaughlin and they have a son, Gilbert Walter.
JAMES W. L. DUCETTE, woolen mill employee, was born at Guilford, Feb. 17, 1895, son of Walter J. and Diana Brown Ducette. Sept. 12, 1912 he married Miss Eunice Greeley of Parkman, daughter of William and Mary Greeley. They had four daughters, Annie D., Madaline, Nellie and Maxine. Mrs. Ducette died in 1925. Mr. Ducette then married Mertie Hamilton Michaud born to William and Olive Ham- ilton at Wellington, March 31, 1891. By previous marriage Mrs. Ducette has two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Ferris Tucker, and Yvonne Michaud.
JAMES S. DUPLISSIE, employee of the Hardwood Products Co., was born at Chatham, N. B., Dec. 14, 1880, son of Dosity and Charlotte Duplissie. Nov. 11, 1920 he married Bertha Shattuck Littlefield of Dover-Foxcroft, daughter of Elmer and Nettie Frost Shattuck. They have one daughter, Audrey. Mrs. Duplissie has a daughter, Cecelia, now Mrs. Fred Noll, by a previous marriage. The family have lived in Guilford some fourteen years.
CARLTON E. EASTMAN, was born at Harmony, Aug. 28, 1909, son of Maurice W. and Etta Tenney Eastman. Dec. 20, 1929 married Miss Maude S. Curtis, daughter of Lon R. and Angie Curtis, who was born Jan. 20, 1912. Mr. Eastman is employed on the Bangor & Aroostook R. R. during the summer months and by the Hardwood Products Co. in the winter.
EVERETT LEROY EASTMAN, millman, was born to Maur- ice W. and Etta Tenney Eastman at Gorham, N. H., Nov. 24, 1904. Nov. 5, 1938 he married Miss Nellie Cowperthwaite of Birch Harbor, and born to Robert B. and Ethel May Stan- ley Cowperthwaite, Dec. 17, 1916. They have one son, Robert Carlton Eastman, born Sept. 14, 1939.
HARRY AUGUSTUS EASTMAN, born at Dexter, Nov. 16, 1879, the son of Alvin Augustus and Agnes Maria Rollins Eastman. He was employed in 1901 and 1902 by Messrs. Page Spearing Co. as plumber and sheet-metal worker. In Nov. 1902 he went to Los Angeles, Calif., and followed his trade until 1915, when he began operating his own ranch of

twenty-five acres raising walnuts, peaches, plums, and later grapefruit. His ranch is near the city of Ontario, Calif., forty miles east of Los Angeles. Was married in 1907; no children. Volunteered in World War One, July 19, 1918. Discharged Feb. 20, 1919. Was stationed at Camp Kerney near San Diego, Calif. After the War he entered the Walnut Dehydrates business where he built some of the largest de- hydraters that has ever been constructed. Since 1937 he has devoted his entire time to his ranch.
MAURICE W. EASTMAN, mason, was born at Mexico, June 24, 1883, son of Charles and Adeline Flagg Eastman. Dec. 31, 1904 he married Miss Etta Tenney of Gorham, N. H., born to James and Mary Tenney, June 17, 1887. She died May 24, 1924. They had four children, Everett, Harlan, Carlton and Adeline (now Mrs. Benj. Cline). Mr. Eastman married again, this time being Florence Garland, daughter of Will and Alice Russell. and born at Brighton, Apr. 1, 1888.
DANA H. EDES, a scion of one of the earliest families of Guilford, only child of the late Wallace W. and Flora Wood- bury Edes, born at Guilford, Dec. 25, 1888. Graduated from Guilford High in 1907, and from the Eastman's Business College, Poughkeepsie, N. Y., in 1908. That same year he went to work in the store with his father, the well-known dry goods establishment of J. K. Edes & Sons, founded by his grandfather in 1856. In 1916 Mr. Edes bought out the busi- ness and continued until 1934 when he closed out the business and sold the fine brick building to be used for a grocery busi- ness. In 1934 he opened the Guilford Service Station at the junction of Water and High streets and Blaine Avenue, and has built up a splendid business. In 1933 Mr. Edes served on the board of selectmen and was elected chairman of the Board the following year. In 1937 he established a filling station at Abbot Village. On Nov. 7, 1916 he married Miss Mabel L. Sawyer of Bangor, who was born July 20, 1887. They have one son, James Kelsey, born Jan. 24, 1921, and a daughter, Edith E., born Dec. 19, 1924. The former is a graduate of Guilford High in 1940, and now has a splendid position with Blake & Kendall in Boston. The latter gradu- ated from Guilford High in 1942.
EDWIN T. EDES, millman, farmer, son of John T. and Eliza Cobb Edes, was born at Parkman, Feb. 26, 1867. Apr. 22, 1896 he married Miss Lottie I. Cobb, daughter of Otis C. and

Emma Esther Rose Cobb, and she was born at Bangor, Jan. 4, 1876. They had two sons, William A., married and lives in Guilford. Leroy M., died at Guilford, Sept. 16, 1939.
MRS. LIZZIE SANDS EDES, was born at Sebec, daughter of Andrew J. and Emily F. Rowe Sands, June 14, 1876. May 5, 1897 she was married to Russell H. Edes, born at Guilford, Oct. 20, 1868, son of Albion B. and Hannah Stevens Edes. They had one child, Stanley Russell Edes, who died soon after being born. Mr. Edes died at Guilford, Apr. 12, 1942. He was a retired carpenter and house-builder, having built several houses in Guilford and Bangor. For a few years Mr. and Mrs. Edes resided at the Isle of Pines, Cuba. Miss Lillian Wilson of Guilford makes her home with Mrs. Edes at her residence on Riverside Terrace.
WILLIAM A. EDES, older son of Edwin T. and Lottie I. Cobb Edes, was born at Portland, April 23, 1898. June 23, 1928 he married Edith L. Rowe, widow of the late Ernold Rowe, born at Madison, July 8, 1899. They have one son, Edwin. There is one son, Harry Leroy Rowe by the first marriage, now enlisted in the U. S. Marines. Mr. Edes is a veteran of World War I, serving overseas. He is now employed in the Hardwood Products Factory.
MRS. MINNIE GOLDTHWAITE ELLIOTT, daughter of Jacob A. and Annie Witherly Goldthwaite was born at Ban- gor, March 11, 1872. June 22, 1897 she was married to Henry A. Elliott of Athens, the son of Lewis and Marilla Elliott, and was born Nov. 17, 1871. Mr. Elliott was the promoter of the Guilford Water Co., and one of the original partners in the French & Elliott Co. In 1932 the Elliotts erected the Community Theatre and have had a splendid patronage. They had a daughter, Priscilla G. who married Dr. Henry C. Knowlton and they reside in Bangor. Richard B. is proprietor of the Theatre. Mr. Henry A. Elliott died at Guilford, Oct. 18, 1937.
WILLIAM C. ELLIS, son of Luther and Susan Cochran Ellis, was born at Augusta, Oct. 28, 1886. Aug. 21, 1930 he mar- ried Myrtle May (Bailey) Blethen, who was born to Charles and Mary Thornton Bailey at Carroll, Feb. 9, 1891. Mr. Ellis has three sons, Roland, Rodney and Myron, and Mrs. Ellis has a son, Lloyd Blethen, and a daughter Edith, now Mrs. Leon LaRochelle, by former marriages.

MRS. ELSIE BEVERAGE EMERY, teacher of English in Guilford High school since 1929, was born at North Haven, daughter of John Henry and Cora Crockett Beverage. On Nov. 30, 1916 she was married to Charles Franklin Emery of St. Albans. They have no children, but Mr. Emery has a son, Turner H. Emery, by a former marriage.
CECIL L. EVANS, son of William A. and Pluma E. Hussey Evans was born at Parkman, Nov. 9, 1880. On Nov. 14, 1906 he married Miss Mary I. Ward, daughter of Albert C. and Inez Ward, and born at Topsham, Nov. 15, 1886. Mrs. Evans died Oct. 14, 1927. They had one son, Roy C., born at Brunswick, July 11, 1908; now in military service, 77th Div. 305th Infantry.
STEWART E. EVANS, Civil War Veteran, serving nearly four years in Company M., 1st Maine Cavalry, son of Elisha and Elizabeth Oakes Evans, born at Greenbush, July 30, 1843. Nov. 14, 1865 married Miss Pheobe A. Briggs of Dexter, born Mar. 14, 1850. Children, Oral Ashley, born June 13, 1871; died Feb. 4, 1875. Charlie Clifton, lumberman, born Feb. 16, 1881, and married Jennie E. Harlow June 1, 1904. They had Doris P., now Doris Lary, who graduated from Guilford High in 1926 and from Gorham Normal School in 1928, and has been a teacher. Kenneth H. is a salesman. He graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in 1929, and married Miss Jeannette Stackpole of Bangor in 1937, and they have a son, Noel K., born in 1938. Charlie Clifton Evans divorced, then married Miss Stella Galusha. There are no children by this latter union. The older Evans' third child was Florence May, born May 8, 1887. Sept. 2, 1931 she married Samuel G. Bodfish, a woolen mill employee, born at Onawa, Jan. 19, 1880. Mr. Bodfish had first married Miss Elsie Davis, June 25, 1905, and she died Mar. 23, 1927. No children by either marriage. The Evans also brought up from infancy Miss Della Moore, Mrs. Evans' niece. Sept. 4. 1895 she married Orland E. Rose of Guilford, and she died Aug. 22, 1896.
ELMER E. FAIRBROTHER, son of the late Moses and Ann C. Edes Fairbrother, was born in Guilford, Apr. 21, 1865, and married Miss Rena B. Herring of Guilford, June 8, 1895, who was born June 24, 1874. They have been active in the Grange for many years. . Children, Maurice E. and Elden M. IRVING E. FAIRBROTHER, foreman of dye room in the Oldtown Woolen Mill, Guilford, was born at Shirley, May 3, 1883, son of the late Willard and Mary Littlefield Fairbrother, Nov. 16, 1907 he married Miss Leonie Goodwin of Clinton, daughter of Moses and Althea Nelson Goodwin, and born Sept. 11, 1887. They have one son, Everett Marcus, born June 15, 1910, and on June 25, 1938 he married Phyllis Hoyt, daughter of Andy Laurin and Cynthia Doore Hoyt, and she was born at South Windham, Nov. 21, 1907.
ELEAZER W. FARRAR, woolen mill employee, son of Silas P. and Lydia Staples Farrar, was born at Wellington, June 27, 1878. Sept. 29, 1913 he married Miss Hazel Whitman, born to Bert and Elsie Whittier Whitman, at Guilford, Oct. 24, 1892. They have two sons, Edwin W., married Miss Beryl Perkins, and Bert W., married Annette Law and both couples live in Portland.
ARLIE G. FERRIS, a woolen mill employee, son of Isaac and Hannah Ferris, born at Mill Cove, N. B., Feb. 24, 1883. Sept. 18, 1926 married Cora B. Grant Knowles, widow of Lester P. Knowles. No children. Mrs. Ferris has two daughters by the first marriage, Hattie, married George Bigger and they, had George F. Jr., born June 2, 1923; James R., born Nov. 2, 1924; Robert H., born Dec. 18, 1926, and Elizabeth M., born June 15, 1932. Mr. Bigger died and she then married Earl Taylor, and they have one son, Earl A. Jr., born April 6, 1935. The second daughter, Edith I., born May 6, 1904, married William C. Thomas, July 15, 1922, and they have Charlotte Gertrude, born Apr. 21, 1923, and Barbara Annie, born Aug. 15, 1927.
ERNEST G. FERRIS, woolen mill employee, born at Mill Cove, N. B., son of Isaac and Hannah Ferris, July 9, 1888. Dec. 23, 1922 he married Wilda (Merrill) Bearce who was born at Abbot, Oct. 22, 1897, the daughter of William and Marilla French Merrill. No children by this union but Mrs. Ferris has three daughters by a former marriage, Arline, now Mrs. William Shea; Imogene, now Mrs. Roy Omar Nisbet, and Thelma, now Mrs. Durgain McKusick. KENNETH JACKMAN FIELD, born in Brattleboro, Ver- mont, Dec. 3, 1897. Father, Frank C. Field, born in Garland. Mother, Harriett M. Field, born in East Alstead, N. H. They moved to Guilford Nov. 10, 1908 from Brattleboro, Vt. Edu- cated in Guilford Public and High schools. Attended Shaw's Business College in Bangor for six months. Employed by the Oldtown Woolen Co., Guilford, a total of twenty years ; five in the mill and fifteen years in the office as Office Man- ager. Went into public service as Guilford Town Agent, May 22, 1939 and still so employed. July 10, 1923 Mr. Field mar- ried Miss Donna Hanson, a school teacher from Winter Har- bor, born to Hoel H. and Grace Stevens Hanson. They have two daughters, Elaine and Janece.
ALFRED H. FISHER, overseer of the dye-room in the Old- town Woolen mill, Guilford, and belonging to a family, several of whom have followed the same line of work, was born at Providence, R. I., Sept. 5, 1881, the son of Joseph and Jane Stockdale Fisher. On Jan. 15, 1917 he married Miss Nathalie Bishop born to Charles and Annie Chounard Bishop at Old- town, Feb. 20, 1889. They have no children. They have been in Guilford since 1933 and reside on Hudson Avenue.
JAMES W. FITZSIMMONS, clerk, oldest child of Thomas and Carrie Coombs Fitzsimmons, born at Guilford, July 11, 1917. Lydia Shaw, daughter of Henry and Leona Shaw was born Jan. 5, 1915, and she was married to Mr. Fitzsimmons, Nov. 8, 1938. Children, Henry T. and Malcolm M.
CLIFTON E. FLANDERS, a World War veteran, was born at Mayfield, June 19, 1891, son of George E. and Nellie M. Huff Flanders. On Aug. 20, 1919 he married Miss Alice Leighton who was born at Athens, Mar. 6, 1899. He is an employee of the Hardwood Products Co. They have one son, Linwood G., born at Athens, Aug. 16, 1922; graduated from the Guilford High school in 1940, and now a clerk in the office of the Guilford Trust Co.

JOSEPH P. FOLSOM, millman, son of Levi F. and Evelyn Packard Folsom, born at Monson, Mar. 1, 1869. June 16, 1897 he married Miss Fannie B. Weld of Abbot, and she was born Feb. 22, 1868, and died at Guilford, Nov. 3, 1935. There was one son born of this union in 1901 and he died in infancy.
ORMAN M. FORTIER, son of William and Elizabeth (Emery) Fortier, born at Guilford, July 2, 1915. Graduated from Guilford High in 1934, and attended Coburn Classical Insti- tute 1935-1936. May 20, 1939 married Miss Eda A. Franklin of Dexter, who was born Oct. 10, 1918. Has been employed by the Hardwood Products Co. since 1938, but left this sum- mer for military service.
GARDNER L. FOSS, born at Monson, the son of George W. and Rose E. Foss, on Nov. 21, 1882. June 1, 1909 he mar- ried Anne T. Barnett, daughter of the late Jeremiah and Katherine Barnett, and born at Elmsdale, P. E. I., Sept. 11, 1891. Gardner Kenneth, born Apr. 1, 1910 and died at the age of nineteen months. In 1919 Mr. and Mrs. Foss took Paul Labree at the age of four years and have given him all the advantages of an only child. He graduated from Guilford High in 1935, and is now overseer in the card room of a Dexter woolen mill. Mr. Foss was employed by the Bangor & Aroostook railroad for several years; then was a mail car- rier. He now assists Mrs. Foss in her greenhouse business on South Main Street.
LEWIEN B. FOSS, woolen mill executive, came to Guilford in 1937 to re-establish operations at the Oldtown Woolen Com- pany mill, and has met with marked success. Before coming to Guilford he had been associated with woolen mills at Mill- bury, Mass., Lebanon, N. H., Mayfield, Ky., Franklin, Mass., Madison, Dexter, and North Andover, Mass. Mr. Foss was born at Hancock, April 9, 1887, son of Rose L. and Millard F. Foss. Sept. 6, 1924 he married Miss Edna E. Nichols, born to Miriam and William Nichols of Lisbon Falls, Oct. 2, 1896. Mrs. Foss is prominent in all worth-while com- munity work. They have no children.

JOHN R. FOULKES, the eldest of twelve children, was born to John and Margaret Hughes Foulkes at Brownville, March 24, 1867. He first married May Jones of Brownville. She died at Southern Pines, North Carolina and was buried at Brownville. Then, at Greenville, Mr. Foulkes married Lunette Parker of Islesboro. Mr. Foulkes did barbering at Greenville for several years before coming to Guilford where he has a shop on Main street. Mrs. Foulkes does beautician work at their residence on Oak street.
MISS CLARA W. FOX, dealer in Ladies and Misses wearing apparel, and retail saleslady of blankets for the local Old- town Woolen mill, was born at Bucksport, July 30, 1889, daughter of George and Martha Colby Fox.
ARTHUR J. FRENCH, son of Agnes S. Cousins French and the late John E. French was born at Parkman, Dec. 15, 1887. He attended the Guilford schools, also Higgins Classi- cal Institute at Charleston, and Burdett's Business College at Boston. Dec. 15, 1916 he married Miss Matilda B., born to Silas M. and Kate Weeks Bates at Abbot, Sept. 16, 1888. They have a son, Robert J., graduated from the University of Maine in 1942, and Miss Sally Ann, in the Guilford schools. Mr. French controls considerable real estate in this section; and under the name of J. E. French & Son, is distributor of Gulf Oil petroleum and kindred products for all of Piscata- quis, and parts of Penobscot and Somerset Counties.
JOHN E. FRENCH, was born at Parkman, Mar. 9, 1852. He served his native town as Selectman in 1884-87. Came to Guilford in 1892 and built up an extensive business in dealing in horses and carriages. Republican, Universalist, Director of the Guilford Trust Co., and wholesale distributor of Gulf Oil products. Mar. 13, 1875 married Miss Agnes S. Cousins. They had one daughter, Ann, who married Carroll S. Doug- lass, and one son, Arthur J. Mr. French died at Guilford, Dec. 13, 1940.
JOHN H. FRYE, was born at Wellington, Oct. 8, 1869, and his parents were Franklin T. and Judith A. (Staples) Frye. He married Miss Lillian Freeze of Lagrange, Oct. 27, 1896. No children. Both taught school in their early life. Later Mr. Frye was a successful farmer for several years; also held various town offices in Wellington. They came to Guilford in 1927 where they purchased the late Frank Stevens estate for their home. Mrs. Frye was an efficient librarian in the public

library of Guilford for a long time before she passed away Apr. 15, 1941. June 10, 1942 Mr. Frye married Mrs. Grace Heald of Pittsfield, widow of the late Melvin Heald.
HERBERT W. GALUSHA, son of Louis and Blanche (Drake) Galusha was born at Greenville, Nov. 1, 1913. Graduated from Guilford High school in 1932, and soon after took a position as clerk in the store of S. J. Jackson Co., and con- tinued for about three years. Then, after working for the Piscataquis Woolen Co. for a few months, he opened a Men's Furnishings Store of his own on Maine street, which has proved a successful venture. Mr. Galusha married Miss Nellie Welts of Parkman on July 3, 1936, and they have one daughter, Herberta Marie, born Dec. 12, 1938.
ELMER ROY GARLAND, millman, was born at Athens, May 28, 1905, the son of Sherburne and Cora Libby Garland. Nov. 26, 1926 he married Miss Sarah A. Clark, born to Albert and Josephine Magnault Clark, at Bowerbank, Mar. 9, 1909. They have one daughter, Rita M. Garland, born May 20, 1931.
JOHN E. GARLAND, woolen mill man, born at Ellsworth, Dec. 28, 1901, son of Madison and Eva Higgins Garland. He came to Guilford in 1935 and on Aug. 28, 1937 married Eliza- beth Ronco, widow of Joseph Alfred Ronco, who was acci- dentally drowned at Moosehead Lake, May 21, 1934. Mrs. Garland was born in Nova Scotia, Sept. 12, 1898. She has three children by the first marriage, Joseph Alfred, and he married Elizabeth Dean; Joyce M., married Carl Dauphnee, and Charles W. in school. Mr. Garland has purchased the large Cole apartment house and operates same.
ARTICE C. GENTHNER, youngest son of the late Daniel E. and Lorinda Robinson Genthner, born at Dover, July 25, 1876. Attended Foxcroft Academy. In October 1898 married Miss Maude E. Howard of Lynn, Mass. Children, Philip H., Dorothy M. and Betty L. Mrs. Genthner died at Fairfield, April 30, 1924, and Miss Dorothy died at Guilford, Jan. 22, 1924. Mr. Genthner has been a retail druggist at Guilford since 1903.
EUGENE O. GENTHNER, fourth son of the late Daniel E. and Polly Anne McKusick Genthner, born at Webster City, Iowa. In 1891 he married Sophia Susan Speed and they had one daughter, Phy, and she married Mr. Fred E. Hutchinson. Mrs. Genthner died early in her married life, and the daughter

died in 1933. Mr. Genthner then married Miss Martha Gertrude Wight, daughter of Nathan Newell and Elmenia Haynes Wight of Parkman, in 1899. Children, Isabel, born at Denver, Colo., now Mrs. Frank Misto of New York City ; and Richard W. Genthner, born at Guilford, now a teacher in Erskine Academy, South China.
MELVIN S. GILMAN, woolen mill man, born at Guilford, Jan. 22, 1898, youngest son of Wallace S. and Georgia Willey Gil- man. June 16, 1923 married Miss Amy L. Perkins, daughter of George L. and Etta Burns Perkins. Children, Melvin W., born at Parkman, Robert L., born at Santa Paula, Calif., Gail C., born at Guilford.
WALLACE GILMAN, was born at Sangerville, Nov. 18, 1865, son of Alonzo and Harriett Conner Gilman. Sept. 11, 1892 he married Georgia Willey of Corinna and they had five chil- dren, Carl, Millie, now Mrs. Henry Jehonnett; Carroll, Mel- vin, and Hattie, now Mrs. Louis Dionne. Mr. Gilman, a re- tired brick mason, has worked in this vicinity all his life, except he was in California 1919-1930.
CHARLES A. GODSOE, was born at Milo, May 3, 1911. His parents were Allen B. and Corinne (Sharpe) Godsoe. After attending the schools of Milo he went to Vancouver and at- tended the Vancouver Drug College and Sprott's Business College. Mr. Godsoe came to Guilford in 1935 to clerk in the Rexall Drug store, and in 1940 took over the business. May 2, 1938 he married Miss Evelyn Boutot of Guilford, and they have one daughter, Mary Louise.
