JOHN H. CRAIN, farmer, son of James F. and Mary E. Crain was born at Caribou, July 23, 1902. Nov. 4, 1927 he mar- ried Miss Eldie A. McKever, daughter of John F. and Clara N. McKever and born at Ludlow, Nov. 14, 1907. They have one son, John F. Crain, born Aug. 9, 1928.
DAVID M. EDES, for several years a farmer, is now in the trucking business. He married Eva E. Jackson of Willi- mantic, June 20, 1903. Mr. Edes was born in Greenville, May 18, 1878, son of Charles S. and Laura Mitchell Edes. Mrs. Edes was born at Willimantic, June 20, 1881, daughter of Joseph T. and Ellen Hathaway Jackson. They have four children, (1) Laurice Irene, born Dec. 2, 1905, married Earl Merriman of Waterville, July 3, 1927. They have Robert Earl, born June 3, 1929; Ruth Elaine, born June 15, 1931 ; Frank Alan, born Dec. 21, 1932 and Richard, born Nov. 27, 1934. (2) Horace Milton, born Apr. 10, 1906 ; married Char- lene Ellis of Guilford, Dec. 24, 1930. They have Dianne Eliz- abeth, born July 2, 1931; Meredith, born Sept. 20, 1933 and David Mitchell, born Feb. 22, 1936. (3) Orville Jackson, born Sept. 5, 1907, married Dorothy Crosby of Bangor, Dec. 20, 1934. They have John Crosby, born Apr. 24, 1936 and Linda Jane, born Feb. 28, 1940. (4) Ruth Harriette, born Apr. 9, 1912, married Frank Hatfield of Sangerville, Sept. 20, 1930. They have Jean, born Dec. 5, 1934 and a daughter born Oct. 5, 1942.
WILLIAM A. HALL, son of Judson W. and Johanna Murphy Hall, was born at Lynn, Mass., Mar. 16, 1888. He gradu -. ated from Sangerville High school in 1910, and on Apr. 26,. 1913 married Miss Carrie Foley, daughter of Edward J. and Lizzie Hanson Foley, born Dec. 10, 1894. Children,. Gordon W., Irene, now Mrs. James Youmans, Brewer ; Dorene and Elaine. Mr. Hall has driven the truck and attended to the handling of freight to and from the Oldtown Woolen Co., for many years.

CHESTER C. MOULTON, automobile salesman, born at San- gerville, Nov. 13, 1895, son of James E. and Mary A. Hol- brook Moulton. Nov. 11, 1916 married Miss Susie Alta Richards, daughter of Clarence E. and Adria J. Edgerly Richards, and born May 10, 1891. Children, Clarence C., Virginia, now Mrs. Robert Zimmerman; and Verna, in school. Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman have three children, Mary Jane, Robert Marley and Ronald Moulton.
B. M. O'BRIEN, was born in Westchester, Nova Scotia, Sept. 15, 1891. His parents were Thomas and Mary Jane O'Brien. He attended Truro Academy, and Baltimore Col- lege of Dental Surgery. In 1918 married Margaret Purdy of Westchester, Nova Scotia, and they have two children, Arlene, born in 1922, and Harold, born in 1929. Dr. O'Brien is a veteran of the first World War ; later served as 1st Lieutenant for fifteen years in the Dental Reserve Corp. He practiced dentistry at Sangerville from 1915 to 1928, and ever since then has practiced at Guilford.
LYNN D. PRIEST, unmarried, son of Horace E. and Sarah Clifford Priest, born at Sangerville, March 5, 1904. Gradu- ated from Sangerville High in 1923 and has been employed by the Bangor & Aroostook railroad as trackman since Sept. 1928.
FRED S. RAMSEY (P. O. Guilford), woolen mill spinner, was born at Houlton, Feb. 3, 1884, son of Daniel and Albina Steele Ramsey. Jan. 22, 1912 he married Ethel Page Skil- lings, daughter of Leonard and Mary Palmer Page. Chil- dren, Gordon W., married. Mrs. Ramsey has a daughter, Marion, now Mrs. Frederick Crain, by a former marriage.
ELMER S. ROGERS, (P. O. Guilford), millman, son of Wal- ter and Lucia Rogers, was born at Abbot, Nov. 5, 1871. On July 3, 1901 he married Miss Edith Frost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Frost, and born at Elliottsville. She died at Guilford, Apr. 2, 1924. Their children are Doris V., now Mrs. Joseph Stewart, and Otelia M., now Mrs. Richard Race.

EUGENE V. ROLLINS, son of Fred E. and Ardelia Parsons Rollins, born at Sangerville, Nov. 26, 1891. Nov. 26, 1912 he married Miss Doris P. Dow, daughter of Sandy A. and Maude E. Cross Dow, and she was born at Sangerville, Sept. 11, 1891. They have one daughter, Maud Doris, born Apr. 22, 1921. Mr. Rollins is overseer in the woolen mill, has been Town Clerk since 1920 and does some insurance business.
OTTO RUHLIN, overseer of finishing in woolen mill, born City Carlstad, Vermaland County, Sweden, Apr. 10, 1881 the son of William and Hulda Ruhlin. In 1902 he married Mary Stewart Shearer of Scotland, daughter of Hugh and Susan Shearer. Mrs. Ruhlin died at Methuen, Mass., Feb. 3, 1934. By this union there were three sons, Dr. Carl W. Ruhlin, a bone specialist, formerly doing field work for the Rockefeller Foundation, but now located in Bangor. Otto N., employed in the Oldtown Woolen mill, Guilford, and Donald B., in the Technical Command of the Air Corps. July 3, 1941, Mr. Ruhlin married Susan (Shearer) Rennie, widow of John Rennie. Mrs. Ruhlin has a son, Douglass Shearer Rennie by her first marriage, and he is a railway mail clerk between Boston and New York.
CHARLES W. SANDERS, many years a merchant at Sanger- ville, was born at Guilford, July 23, 1869, son of Alden and Clara B. Wiggin Sanders. Dec. 30, 1903 he married Miss Cora B. Murray, daughter of Frank S. and Lovisa French Murray of Parkman and born July 6, 1872. Children, Claire Sylvina, graduated from Sangerville High in 1930, and the University of Maine in 1934. She is now doing Secretarial work at the University of Maine. The family are Univer- salist.
ELMER F. SMALL, accountant and office manager in the Old- town Woolen Mill office, Guilford, was born at Biddeford, Feb. 20, 1901, son of Fred and Annie Small. He graduated from Biddeford High in 1920, from Portland University in 1924 and at ended Northeastern University two years. June 17, 1924 he married Miss Frances E. Whitney, daughter of Elmer E. and Blanche T. Whitney. They have three chil- dren, Elaine, born Jan. 22, 1926, James, born Apr. 27, 1932 and Eric, born July 9, 1935.

HERBERT L. SMART, store proprietor. Born at Parkman, Apr. 13, 1866, first son of Gustave E. L. and Hannah Ray Smart. Moved to Sangerville in 1890, where he married E. Blanche Worcester of Blanchard, Sept. 2, 1894. Hotel and Livery proprietor 1890 to 1908. Operated Meat Market 1908 to May, 1920 when partnership of H. L. Smart & Son was formed. This partnership operates general store to date. One son, Millard W. Smart.
MILLARD W. SMART, store proprietor, born at Sangerville, April 24, 1897, son of Herbert L. and E. Blanche Worcester Smart. Attended public schools at Sangerville and Fox- croft Academy graduate of 1915. Aug. 23, 1927 married Marjorie Baskett Mitchell, daughter of Joseph and Ida Bas- kett and born Apr. 9, 1902. Mr. Smart is a World War I veteran ; enlisted July 19, 1917. Discharged Sgt. 1st Class Signal Corps Co. D, 54th Tel. Bn., Apr. 6th, 1919. Piscata- quis County Commissioner 1930 to 1936. No children. Stepson, Lyndon R. Mitchell.
JAMES ARTHUR TIMONEY, former locomotive engineer, but First Selectman at Sangerville since 1936, was born to Robert E. and Bertha M. Brockelbank Timoney at Smyrna Mills, Nov. 3, 1887. Apr. 17, 1912 he married Nellie G. Grant, daughter of Henry A. and Ada Kelley Grant, born at Dyer Brook, Nov. 1, 1887. Children, Glendon E., born July 15, 1913; Louise I., born July 19, 1915, married Richard Elliott ; Cecil A., born July 14, 1917 ; Leroy E., born Dec. 22, 1919; Geraldine, born Feb. 28, 1924, married Geo. M. Clukey ; Leland E., born July 20, 1925, and Nellie G., born Dec. 26, 1928 and died same date.
HAROLD B. WILSON, Sangerville, born at Cloverdale, N. B., Sept. 19, 1898, son of Stephen B. and Ruth Steeves Wilson. Graduated from Sangerville High school in 1917. Clerked in the Marsh Drug store eight years, and for fifteen years has been proprietor of the Rexall Drug store. Became a registered druggist June 12, 1935. June 26, 1926 married Miss Vivian Stone, daughter of Clifton and Bessie Stone of Millinocket. She was born Sept. 9, 1904 and graduated from Sangerville High in 1921. Children, Nadine and Betty Jane.

FRANK HAROLD BEANE, weaver, was born at Bingham, Jan. 24, 1895, son of Bert and Flora Fitzmorris Beane. May 20, 1917 married Lillian, daughter of Elijah and Angelia Burnes Ames, who was born Oct. 6, 1890. No children by this marriage but Mrs. Beane has a married son, Chester Lewis by a previous marriage.
ERNEST R. BICKFORD, son of Frank and Margaret Smith Bickford was born at Kingsbury, Jan. 11, 1883. March 2, 1907 he married Abbie Gerrish, born to Mark and Minnie Gerrish at Abbot, Oct. 28, 1889. Children, Eugene, Frank, Ivory, Hugh, Opal and Barbara. Mr. Bickford is trackman for the B. & A. R. R.
LEVI I. BOUTILIER, trackman on the Bangor & Aroostook since Dec. 3, 1930, now located at Monson Jct., was born at Oakfield, June 30, 1909 to Wellesley and Hattie Boutilier. He married Alda E. CHARLES C. BRAGDON, woolen mill employee, was born at Monson, Apr. 12, 1882, son of Joshua M. and Rebecca Skil- ling Bragdon. Nov. 1904 he married Miss Eva Hardy of Guilford. She died March 23, 1934. They had three chil- dren, Roy, Phoebe and Madeline. Aug. 3, 1934 Mr. Brag- don married Mrs. Grace Philbrick of Abbot, widow of Walter B. Philbrick. AUSTIN F. BROWN, foreman at the Leighton slate quarries, Willimantic, a branch of the Monson Maine Slate Co. Son of George L. and Carrie Davis Brown, born at Monson, Nov. 2, 1890. Dec. 24, 1912 he married Miss Adelia Parsons, daughter of Charles and Annie Westberg Parsons and born at Monson, June 17, 1897. One daughter, Sylvia D., mar- ried Lyle Macomber and they reside at Dover-Foxcroft. They have twins, William George and Betsy Ann.

FRANK A. BROWN, service station attendant, son of John M. and Wady Crouse Brown, born at Bogota, Ill., Dec. 10, 1892. Married Miss Nellie Buzzell, daughter of Oshea and Salome Drew Buzzell of Abbot and who was born July 29, 1876.
DAVID HORACE BUXTON, was born at Corinna, the son of James and Julia Gilman Buxton, Jan. 26, 1858. He came to Abbot and in 1872 established a general store which he per- sonally conducted until his death July 23, 1941. Mr. Bux- ton was president of the Buxton medicine company which he founded 45 years ago and which has developed on a nation-wide basis ; he was postmaster at Abbot for 42 years. He served as town clerk for 34 years, town treasurer 12 years, and represented his district in the Maine Legislature in 1902-3. He was the oldest past master of Mt. Kineo Lodge of Masons, Guilford, and when he was appointed, was the youngest in the history of the lodge, being only 27 years old. For 59 years he has been a member of St. John's Commandery, Knights Templar, at Bangor. He was a char- ter member of Juanita Lodge K. of P., and was made a past chancellor commander when the lodge was instituted. On April 23, 1890 he married Miss Carrie Bradman who was born at Abbot, the daughter of George and Sarah Woods Bradman, and who survives. By this union there was one daughter, Hope, who continues the business.
GEORGE W. COLE, born at Prospect Harbor, Oct. 21, 1871, son of J. Woodbury and Hannah Crowley Cole. He came to Guilford in 1904 and was employed by French & Elliott Co. May 23, 1906 he married Miss Lillian Harrington, youngest daughter of Jotham and Ruth Harrington, and born at Parkman, Oct. 9, 1875. No children. In 1909 they moved to Auburn where Mr. Cole was employed as meat cutter, and Mrs. Cole had work with the Cushman Hollis Co. In 1941 they retired and moved back and purchased the "Nichols" place in Abbot and have made an attractive home for them- selves.
HENRY F. DEXTER, was born at Sangerville, Apr. 2, 1872, son of C. Gideon and Susan E. Toothacher Dexter. In 1893 he married Miss Mary E. Bridges, daughter of Warren and Marcia Putnam Bridges, and they had one son, Elmer F. Dexter. In 1907 Mr. Dexter married Margaret (Foss) Keene, daughter of Daniel and Rose Foss. She died in 1938. Mr. Dexter served his town three years as chairman of the Selectmen, and was a traveling salesman for thirty years.

THOMAS J. FITZSIMMONS, woolen mill fireman, was born at Shirley, Aug. 16, 1883, son of James and Elizabeth Routh Fitzsimmons. In 1918 he married Miss Carrie Coombs, daughter of William and Irene Coombs of Parkman. There are five children, James W., George and Donald in military service, Guy, and Elizabeth in Guilford High school.
MAURICE W. FLYNT, son of the late Llewellyn S. and Mary A. Works Flynt, was born at Abbot, Aug. 9, 1889. When a mere child he learned telegraphy at Abbot Village station, where his father was Station Agent, and where his grand- father had been Agent before that. He held operating jobs with the Bangor & Aroostook for six years, then went to the Maine Central where he has held similar positions ; part of the time being train dispatcher. In 1914 he married Miss Gertrude E. Nichols of Madison. Children, Gordon, born Jan. 1916 and died at the age of 15; Mary, born Dec. 1917 and died at age of three years ; Marita, now Mrs. Robert P. Burns.
GILES M. FOGG, Station Agent at Monson Jct., for the past 37 years, was born at Abbot, May 6, 1868, son of Giles M. and Charlotte Hall Fogg. July 9, 1905 he married Miss Bertha M. Warren, daughter of Rodney and Anna Bennett Warren, and she was born at Abbot, Dec. 31, 1874. Children, Charlotte, married Asa Stiles and he was acci- dentally killed in railroad service June 1936. Giles Millard Fogg and Warren Fogg, both unmarried and in military service. Mr. and Mrs. Fogg have a granddaughter, Millie Stiles, and grandson, Robert Stiles. Mr. Fogg is active in the Masonic, Odd Fellows and K. of P. Lodges.
GUY W. HUNTINGTON, textile worker, oldest son of Charles L. and Augusta Randall Huntington, was born at Brighton, Dec. 31, 1891. In 1913 he married Ethelyn Davis of Ban- gor. He has a son Walter, married Mildred Bamford, and a daughter Doris, who married William O'Connell of Boston, Mass.
MARY CUMMINGS LORD, daughter of Silas A. and Sarah A. Hildreth Cummings, was born at Greenville, Maine, Jan. 13, 1859. The Cummings family was one of the first to settle at Greenville, and the house in which Mrs. Lord was born stood in the new airport area, and has recently been moved and modernized. Mrs. Lord was first married to Prosper Alvarus Bennett of Guilford. He died May 5, 1893.

By this union there were two children, Rena A. and Silas A. Rena A., married Walter Bennett of Abbot, and they had two children, Ione Alvara, who married Gayland Moore and they had four children, Gayland Jr., Carroll W., Roderick M. and Mary A. Alvarua Frank married Norma Brown, and they had five children, Barbara A., Joyce and Joan (twins), Walter S. (died when about three months old), and Kathryn. Silas A., Mrs. Lord's second child, married Maud Mitchell of Auburn, and they had four children, Earl F., Hildreth C., (died at age of about three months), Paul E. and Gerald S. Mr. Walter Bennett died at Abbot, Nov. 21, 1935, and the son, Alvarua Frank died at Abbot, July 20, 1937. On June 4, 1895, Mary Cummings Bennett was mar- ried again ; this time to Willard Lord of Abbot, and he died at Abbot, Apr. 20, 1935. No children.
LESTER S. MITCHELL, was born in Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Feb. 21, 1889, the son of Collim and Elizabeth Mitchell. Jan. 3, 1911 he married Miss Edith Perkins, daughter of James L. and Mary Fogg Perkins. Theodore (died Sept. 2, 1924) ; Addie (died Mar. 5, 1914) ; Russell J., Maynard, Elizabeth, Donna, Harriett, Seldon. Mr. Mitchell has been a trackman for the Bangor & Aroostook R. R. since 1913, the last 25 years of which he has been section- foreman.
ORA P. NORTON, was born at Wellington, June 5, 1891, son of Robert S. and Addie E. Kenny Norton. March 24, 1917 he married Miss Vera Adams, daughter of the late Charles L. and Ada H. Farnham Adams, and she was born at Abbot, Apr. 17, 1896. They have one son, Byron L., born Feb. 14, 1922; recently enlisted in the U. S. Air Corps. The Nortons operate the large farm in Abbot that Mrs. Norton's father operated for many years.
ALVAH C. PERKINS, farmer and lumberman, son of George and Louise Huff Perkins, was born at Abbot, Nov. 1, 1901. Feb. 4, 1925 he married Miss Vina Higgins, only daughter of William and Alice Smith Higgins and who was born Feb. 27, 1904. They had one daughter, Beatrice, now in school. Mrs. Perkins died at Abbot, Nov. 23, 1938. June 20, 1942, Mr. Perkins married Louise A. Crabtree, widow of the late Harry G. Crabtree who died at Abbot, Apr. 25, 1940. She was the daughter of Howard B. and Elmira Merritt Look and was born at Addison, Apr. 28, 1897. Mrs. Perkins has eight children by her first marriage, Colby W., Courtney,

now Mrs. Alonzo Collins of Guilford, Gilbert N., Howard M., Winona E., Enola H., Althea M., and Marie J. All three sons are in military service.
FLEETWOOD PRIDE, was born at Frederickton Jct., N. B., March 26, 1864, the son of Samuel Bigelow and Matilda (Phillips) Pride. He first married Capitolia Springer of Wytopitlock, and she bore him two children, Roland B. and Doris; the latter now being Mrs. Raymond Emerson of Island Falls. Mrs. Pride died in 1895. He then married Lizzie Edwards Dow, widow of Wilmont Dow of Searsport. They had a daughter, Lona, a teacher at Gorham Normal School. This Mrs. Pride died in 1918. Mr. Pride then married Inez Quigg, daughter of Nehemiah and Eunice E. Quigg of Liberty. By this latter marriage there are two promising sons : Fleetwood Jr., attending the University of Maine, and Waldon, in Guilford High school. In each in- stance Mr. Pride married a school teacher. Mr. Pride has
had a varied and interesting business career. He enjoyed personal acquaintanceship as well as direct letter contacts with the late Theodore Roosevelt. He furnished practi- cally all of the telegraph poles for the initial building of the telegraph lines along the Bangor & Aroostook railroad into and through Aroostook County, and was personally ac- quainted with every officer and contractor on the B. & A. at that time, as well as with every important business man in the city of Bangor, and Aroostook County. In 1899 he built a large long lumber and shingle mill on the Ashland branch at a point that the Railroad Company designated as "Pride's Mills". After operating eight years it burned. In 1907 he built a saw mill at Brownville, which later was sold to the Pride Lumber Co. In 1913 he erected last-block mills at Harvey Siding, in Aroostook County, also a last- block mill at Perkin's Siding, near Norcross, which oper- ated five years. In 1918 he built a last-block mill at Oak- land and operated the same until he came to Abbot in 1928 and purchased the water power here and built a mill. In 1910 Mr. Pride went with Willis R. Dresser from Houlton to St. Stephens, N. B., and together they built up the pros- perous Dominion Fertilizer Co. Mr. Pride is confident that the most fascinating work he ever did was while employed with the United Shoe Machinery Co., for three years ex- ploring for hardwoods, he walked from Moncton, N. B. to Lake Champlain, and beyond westward, into upper New

York State. At present he is busy getting out Oak, Beach, Birch and Maple ship-timber for the ship yards at Belfast, South Gardiner, Camden and other Maine ports.
JOHN FRANK ROBERTS, weaver, was born at Abbot, Oct. 1, 1893, son of John and Emma Crockett Roberts. He gradu- ated from Abbot High school in 1912. June 14, 1919 he mar- ried Miss Pearl Crozier, daughter of Fred J. and Belle Davis Crozier and she was born June 25, 1899. She graduated from Monson Academy in 1916. For children they have, Alma B., now Mrs. Gustavus A. Jenkins; Myona G., now Mrs. Russell Mitchell, Norma F., Duane C. and Katherine E.
FOREST G. ROGERS, (P. O. Guilford), farmer, son of Wal- ter and Lucia Simons Rogers, was born at Abbot (P. O. Guilford), May 13, 1880. Nov. 30, 1912 he married Miss Vira Kendall who was born at Willimantic, Sept. 9, 1890. Mrs. Rogers was a graduate from Monson Academy class 1908, and taught school a few years. They have one daugh- ter, Evelyn, Graduated from Guilford High in 1934, and married Walter Spack, and they have a daughter Nancy Ann Spack and a son, Forest Hall Spack.
WILLIAM EDDIE THOMAS, Veteran of First World War, serving one year with A. E. F. in France. Dealer in wood and lumber. He was born at Centerville, N. B., July 19, 1892, son of William G. and Sarah Crabtree Thomas. He came to Abbot in 1920 and married Miss Ina H. Thomas, a school teacher, daughter of William O. and Grace Warren Thomas, and she was born at Sangerville, Aug. 16, 1894. Their children are, Blair C. Thomas, graduated from Guil- ford High in 1939. Attended Gorham Normal School and now working in Defense plant, Hartford, Conn. He was born at Sebec, Apr. 3, 1921. Grace M. Thomas, born at Abbot, Oct. 14, 1922; graduated from Guilford High in 1939, attended Farmington Normal and is now attending Gray's Business College at Portland.
CHARLES W. TILESTON, employed in woolen mill finishing room, was born at Sangerville, Jan. 2, 1904, son of Willis and Mabel A. Buzzell Tileston. Attended the Sangerville schools. July 21, 1928 married Dorothy Moore who was born Jan. 19, 1911, daughter of Robert and Sarah Moore of Silver Lake, N. Y. Their children are, Robert W., Leon R., and Violet M. The latter died at Guilford, Mar. 28, 1938. The family now reside in Abbot.

CLARENCE B. FARRAR, (P. O. Guilford), woolen mill weaver, was born at Wellington, June 8, 1876, son of the late Silas P. and Lydia Staples Farrar. July 30, 1898 he married Miss Minnie B. Galusha of Parkman, and she died Mar. 10, 1928. Mr. Farrar then married Gertrude B. Bailey of Lewiston, widow of the late George M. Bailey, and she was born July 18, 1882. No children by either marriage.
BYRON E. PERKINS, printer, and active in Boy Scout Lead- ership, was born at Guilford, the son of George and Etta Burns Perkins, Feb. 15, 1908. Graduated from Guilford High school in 1929, and July 11, 1931 married Georgia Frances Stover of Sorrento, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Stover, and was born Sept. 25, 1912. They have two chil- dren, Sandra Rowene age 5 years, and Craig Eldridge age four years.
ELLIS W. SIBLEY, (P. O. Guilford), now in defense work was born Feb. 16, 1892. Aug. 21, 1932 he married Eva Cookson Page, daughter of Henry and Mary Cookson, and was born at Monson, Jan. 29, 1888. Mrs. Sibley has three children by a previous marriage, Leona, married Claude Canwell; Amber, married Raymond Michaud, and George is in the 57th Coast Artillery service.
VIRGIL T. TAYLOR, tractor operator, was born at Parkman, Sept. 15, 1913, son of William A. and Bertha Patterson Tay- lor. Aug. 21, 1937 married Miss Vida Fowlie, daughter of of Wm. H. and Rhoda Clark Fowlie was born Aug. 2, 1920 and graduated from Harmony High school in 1937. They have one daughter, Beverly A.
ALLSTON H. WELTS, was born at Parkman, Oct. 28, 1905, son of Harry L. and Florida Bernice Whitney Welts. He was graduated from Farmington Normal school in class of 1927, and Jan. 28, 1928 married Miss Elizabeth Hodgdon, a school teacher from Portland, and born June 15, 1908. Children, Roger Allston, born 1928; Erwin Edward, born 1929 ; Ann Elizabeth, born 1931, Jean Marilyn, born 1933,

and Elaine Bernice, born 1935. Mr. Welts is a successful farmer, and the last few years has been associated with Melvin A. Sanborn in extensive growing and shipping of potatoes, and the raising of cattle.
DAVID B. WELTS, stone cutter and monumental worker, was born at Rome, Oct. 20, 1842, the son of Sylvester and Eliza Witham Welts. In 1863 he married Miss Julia Lovett, daughter of David and Betsey Cobb Lovett, and she was born Aug. 11, 1844 at South Portland, and died at Park- man, Oct. 17, 1915. Mr. Welts died at Parkman, Oct. 29, 1921. (David Lovett was born at Cape Elizabeth, in 1815 and died Mar. 21, 1882, and Betsey Cobb Lovett was born at Cape Elizabeth, in 1815 and died June 10, 1859). David B. and Eliza W. had eleven children, Ellen M. and Cora B., both died in early childhood. Sylvester, unmarried, born at Rome, May 17, 1867 and died at Guilford, Dec. 9, 1938. Martha E., born at Farmington, June 13, 1868, married Arthur D. Witham, and she died at Kingsbury, Apr. 19, 1895 ; Gertrude M., born at Dix Island, July 20, 1872, mar- ried Sewell Harmon of Abbot, and died at Abbot, Dec. 15, 1921. Bertha M., born at Rome, Aug. 17, 1876, married Silas F. Huff of Abbot, Dec. 24, 1900, now living at Guil- ford. John A., born at Rome, Nov. 24, 1877, married J. Maude Davis, and he died at Parkman, Apr. 11, 1931. Free- man A., born at Rome, Feb. 4, 1880, married Miss Tena Badger of Parkman, now living at Guilford. George E., born at Norridgewock, May 12, 1883, married Miss Bertha A. Trafton of Parkman, and she was born Sept. 15, 1890, and died Sept. 18, 1920. James Parker Welts, born at Abbot, Dec. 2, 1885, married Miss Nellie Trafton of Park- man and both living in Parkman; Bessie J., born at Parkman, Feb. 2, 1889, married Ora L. Hayden and both now living in Guilford village.
GEORGE E. WELTS, lumber and real estate, was born at Norridgewock, May 12, 1883, son of David B. and Julia Lovett Welts. Sept. 15, 1918 he married Miss Bertha Traf- ton, born to Liston and Annie Bixby Trafton at Wellington, Sept. 15, 1890, and she died Sept. 18, 1920. By this union three children were born, Hazel J., who married Kenneth Ruland of Parkman, and they have a son Warren and a daughter Alice. Doris M. married Guy Robinson, and they have one son, David Edwin and live in Hanover, N. H. Phylis I. married Wm. Lunt of Hanover, N. H., and has

a son Robert. Mr. Welts then married Edna Morrison and they had two sons, William, born in Sept., 1923 and died Apr. 5, 1932, and Lloyd, born May 7, 1925, and in school. HARRY L. WELTS, farmer, was born at Rome, Jan. 1, 1880, son of the late James Parker and Nellie May Holbrook Welts. Nov. 4, 1904 he married Miss Florida Bernice Whit- ney, daughter of the late Ansel S. and Elizabeth Ames Whitney and born at Parkman, Sept. 9, 1886. They have five children, Harry Allston, Aldine, married Chester Far- rar, Minnie, married Carroll Bridge, Nellie, married Herbert Galusha, and Donna, attending Guilford High school.
ALBA O. WHITE, (P. O. Guilford), a tractor operator, was born at Wilton, Mar. 23, 1914, the son of Carl C. and Flora Cook White. Apr. 27, 1935 he married Miss Eunice Bachel- der, daughter of Vane and Rosa Ross Bachelder, who was born at Langtown, Sept. 24, 1919. They have five children, Roselette, Melvin, Berton, Eugene and Leana.
FOREST C. WHITE, (P. O. Guilford, R.F.D.), truck driver, son of Carl C. and Flora Cook White was born at Stratton, June 30, 1921. Nov. 23, 1940 he married Miss Florence Darling, born to Arthur and Helen Tripp Darling at Oakfield, N. Y., Feb. 7, 1924. They have two sons, Clifford and Richard. These two families, Forest and Alba White, live on the William Taylor farm.
