MAINE REGISTER.
AN ACT IN RELATION TO THE SUPREME JUDICIAL COURT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Legislature assembled, as follows :
Section 1. The act additional concerning the Supreme Judicial Court and its juris- diction, approved, March sixteenth, eighteen hundred and fifty-five, is hereby repealed, excepting that part of said act which provides for a law term of said court at Augusta, on the first Tuesday of January, annually ; and acts and parts of acts repealed by said act are hereby revived, except the eleventh and fourteenth sections of the " act concern- ing the Supreme Judicial Court and its jurisdiction, approved April ninth, eighteen hundred and fifty-two.
Section 2. The said Supreme Judicial Court, after a vacancy shall occur therein, shall consist of one Chief Justice and six Associate Justices, and no vacancy occurring in said court shall be filled so as to make the number greater than is hereby provided.
Section 3. The concurrence of at least four members of said court shall be necessary in determining all questions of law or equity which may come before said court at the terms held by a majority of said court.
Section 4. This act shall take effect from and after its approval by the Governor. Approved, April 9, 1856.
CHANGE OF TIME IN HOLDING A COURT.
The jury term of Supreme Judicial Court, for Lincoln County, held at Wiscasset, has been changed from the first to the third Tuesday of May.
PROBATE COURTS.
ANDROSCOGGIN COUNTY .- Probate Courts are holden ou the second Tuesday of every month, at the Probate Office, Auburn.
AROOSTOOK COUNTY .- Probate Courts are hold- en at Honlton, on the third Tuesdays of Janu- ary, March and May, and on the first Tuesday's of July, September and November.
CUMBERLAND COUNTY .-- Probate Courts are hold- en at Portland, on the 1st and 34 Tuesdays of January, February, March, April, May, June, July ; and on the Ist Tuesday of September, and on the 1st and 3d Tuesdays of October, Novem- ber and December.
FRANKLIN COUNTY .- Probate Courts are hold- en at the Probate Office in Farmington, on the first Tuesday of every month, at 10 A. M. At Simeon HI. Lowell's office, in Phillips, on the last Tuesday of June, at 10 A. M.
HANCOCK COUNTY. - Probate Courts are holden at Ellsworth, the first Wednesdays of December, January, February, August and September ; the third Wednesday of June ; the first Wednesday after the second Tuesday of April, and the first Wednesday after the fourth Tuesday of October. At Bucksport, the first Wednesday of May, and third Wednesdays of September and January .- At Bluehill, the first Wednesdays of July and No- vember. (When the first Wednesday of July shall fall on the fourth, the Court shall be held the day previous.) At Sullivan, the Tuesday next before the first Wednesday in August. At Somesville, ( Mount Desert), the Tuesday next before the third Wednesday of June, and Thes- day next before the third Wednesday in Sep- tember.
KENNEBEC COUNTY .- Probate Courts are holden at Augusta, on the second and fourth Mondays of January; on the second and fourth Mondays of February and March ; on the second and fourth Mondays of April, May, June, July, August, Oc- tober, November and December, and on the first and fourth Mondays of September. At Win- throp, on the first Monday of June. At Water- ville, on the first Monday of July.
LINCOLN COUNTY .- Probate Courts are holden at Wiscasset, at 9 o'clock, A. M., on the first Monday of each month. At Waldoboro', on the last Mondays of May and August, at 10 o'clock, A. M.
