Has Adventist, Baptist, Catholic, Christian Science, Congregational, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist and Universalist churches, a commercial club, a public library, a sanitarium, 3 banks, 3 hotels, a creamery, flour, feed, saw and plan- ing mills, starch, pickle, dry milk and sash factories, an electric light plant and waterworks. The First Asylum for the Insane is located here. Two week- ly newspapers, the Herald and the Anoka County Union, are published.
