REPORT OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES.
REPORT OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES.
FOR THE YEAR ENDING FEBRUARY 15, 1899.
In accordance with Chapter 8, Sections 21-26 of the Pub- lic Statutes. Received from the State $100 worth of books which were placed in the library, Nov. 7, 1898.
Since then we have selected $94 in books, but owing to delay of publishers, only a part of these have been received.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT.
June, 1897. Received from Town for 1896, $ 31 50
This sum and interest on same amounted to $ 33 33
Dec., 1898. Received, 12 21
Feb., 1899. Received for 1897 and 1898, 63 00
Dec., 1898. Paid for library supplies and freight, 12 21
$108 54
Balance in hands of Trustees, $ 96 33
We append a catalogue of the books already in the library, which you should preserve for reference, as it is probably the only printed catalogue that will be obtainable of the pres- ent contents of the library.
The town reports each succeeding year will contain the additions made during that year. So by keeping this report, and all succeeding ones, you will at all times have a com- plete catalogue.
You will observe that these books are catalogued in classes, as A., B., D., etc., and also, each volume is num- bered.
These together constitute what is known as the " call No." of the book, the number that you write on your library card, when you send for a book, or even when you call. Thus if your wanted book marked No. 1 under Class A, you would simply write on your card " A1," if the second was wanted, " A2," etc.
When sending cards to the library always make a second and third choice, in case the first should be out.
Respectfully submitted,
THE TRUSTEES.
