Deduct for Duble 6 returns
160
Mustered by Step" Evans Colo May 1779
[It will be seen that the portion torn from the original contained the Madbury names and seventeen of the Dover men .- ED.]
N. B. There Is a number of Men returned one man for two towns- viz John ham for Dover & Barrington he did belong to Dover at the time he listed Daniel ham returned for Dover & Rochester he belonged to Dover Thomas Hanscomb for Dover & Somersworth he belonged to Dover William Leaver he was returned for Dover & Somersworth he was a bound servant to Maj' Richerson when he listed in Dover
And Durham & barrington John Neal returned in both he most prop- erly belonged to Durham I think
Rochester & Somersworth both returned Daniel Alley his family has lived in Rochester & properly belong there
And it is very likely there is Duble Returns for others that I am not so well acquainted with as I am withos I have Mentoned
The within acct of the Men raised in my Regt Is the most coract that I can Send to the honourable Court at present. I should think the sev- eral Muster Masters accts would give the most light In this case for my Part I Did Not make any record at the time when the men enlisted Nor how long they listed for & I cant find that any others Did
