LIFE PILLS,

AND

PHENIX BITTERS.

J. MOFFAT'S Medical Office, 546 Broadway,

Have long been known and appreciated for their extraordina- ry and immediate powers of restoring perfect health to persons. suffering under nearly every kind of disease to which the human frame is liable.

In many hundreds of certificated instances, they have even rescued sufferers from the verge of an untimely grave, after all the deceptive nostrunis of the day had utterly failed ; and to many thousands they have permanently secured that uniform enjoyment of health, and without which life itself is but a partial blessing. So great, indeed, has their efficacy invariably and in- fallibly proved that it has appeared scarcely less than miracu- lous to those who were unacquainted with the beautifully philo- sophicai principles upon which they are compounded, and upon which they consequently act. It was to their manifest and sensi- ble action in purifying the springs and channels of life, and en- duing them with renewed tone and vigour, that they were indebt- ed for their name, which was bestowed upon them at the spon- taneous request of several individuals whose lives they had obviously saved.

The Vegetable Life Pills and Phonix Bitters have in all cases proved superior to every other medicine in the cure of Dyspep- sia, loss of appetite, Flatulence, Costiveness, Piles, Stomach and Liver complaints, Chronic and inflammatory Rheumatism, Apoplexy, Palsy, Nervous disorders, tic douloureux, determina- tion of blood to the head, palpitation of the heart, inveterate sores, colds, Influenza, Fever and Ague, Bilious affections, jaundice, &c.

The Life Pills and Phoenix Bitters remove almost impercep- tibly, all noxious accumulations from the stomach and bowels, and all impurities from the blood, imparting life and vigour at the same time, to every part of the system, and thus restore the energies of both body and mind. Used as a cathartic they pre- vent or remove diseases in their forming stages, as an alterative they may be taken at any time, as they do not contain mercury or any ingredients that require confinement or restriction of diet. In confirmation of these facts, reference can be had to testimo- nials which must prove satisfactory to every candid mind, on ap- plication at Moffat's Medical Office, 546} Broadway, where the CELEBRATED LIFE PILLS and PIIŒENIX Bitters may be obtained whole- sale and retail, at his Medical Office, No. 546} Broadway. The retail price of the LIFE PILLS is 25 cents per box, or, in larger boxes, at 50 cents, and one dollar. The PIIŒNIX BITTERS are sold in bottles at one and two dollars each. Re- member 510? Broadway.

THE PASSION FLOWER.

189 BROADWAY,

NEW-YORK.

" A monthly periodical with the above title, is published in the CITY OF NEW-YORK, and edited by Miss Anna Johnson Reid, a young lady of great merit, and, as is proved by her sweet and interesting work, of brilliant genius and classic taste. Among her patrons, she numbers many of the first men in the Union, some of whom, in addition to their subscriptions, have given her writ- ten testimonials of their approbation of her captivating labors. Among her subscribers are the names of the late Chief Justice Marshall, the Vice President, Hon. Morgan Lewis, Bishop On ; derdonk, and others equally distinguished. Its good name has even found its way across the Alantic, and extorted praise from the lips of Royalty.

"The Passion Flower" is printed on beautiful fine paper, in clear bold type, is fancifully bound in red morocco and gilt ; contains 96 pages, forming 1152 pages in the year, and may be said only to be 'excelled in its mechanical execution, by the chaste and splendid talents of its highly gifted Editress .- From. the Baltimore Farmer and Gardener.

" The Passion Flower," for June, forming the XXVI. Num- ber of Miss Anna J. Reid's delightful little publication, was is- sued several days ago, and continues to improve in appearance as well as in public favor. The reading matter is most excel- lent : and we find the Philadelphia press is speaking of this num- ber, in connection with the whole series, as entitled to unqualifi- ed praise. If its wide-spread circulation among the most re- spectable and talented circles of our country may be taken as the criterion of its worth-and we think it should-then is the Passion Flower based upon enduring grounds, for it is patronised by nearly all the magnates of the Union, and the list is constant- ly gaining valuable additions .- New- Yorker, 1836.

Terms, $5 per annum in advance.

S. C. REID publisher, 189 Broadway.

LAFAYETTE

BURR MILL-STONE MANUFACTORY.

William Tyack has been in the habit of going to France annu- ally, and selecting the blocks at the quarries with his own hand, personally ; it insures to the Burrs of his Manufacture, a decided preference over the blocks imported by merchants to order, who are not, nor can they be, accurate judges of the article, unless they manufacture them.

Persons giving orders for Burrs, are requested to be very par- ticular in stating whether they are wanted for all kinds of Grain -say country work generally-or for flouring alone, as it is of the utmost importance that the temper of the Burr should cor- respond with the kind of Grain to be manufactured.

W. T. having had considerable experience in Mills, is well aware of the great importance of having Burrs made in the most faithful and perfect manner.

This very valuable article, although it has been many years in use in this country, vet its qualities in its perfect state are but little known, owing to the defect in the materials and workman- ship.

They will be made to order, and forwarded to any part of the United States or the Canadas, warranted, with my name on them.

Millwrights, Millers, and Gentlemen who are judges of the ar- ticle, are invited to call at No 240 Washington-street, corner of Robinson, and examine the materials and workmanship.

Dutch Bolting Cloths from the most approved manufactories in Holland, Esopus and Cologne Stones, also Mill Irons, wrought and cast of any pattern, furnished at the shortest notice.

Spindles, Hoisting Screws, Gudgeons and Wheels for Grist- Mills, Cranks, Stirrups, and Pitmans. Castings and Wrought Iron Work for Saw Mills.

Screws for pressing Paper, Hay, Oil, Tobacco, Cotton, &c., of all sizes. All kinds of Mill-Work furnished by him as Agent, in all the above branches-will be stamped, warranted and sold at fair prices.
