BROOKLYN DIRECTORY ADVERTISER.

FREDERICK V. RUSERON.

'Son of the late WM. L. RUSHTON, Originator and Senior Partner of the late Firm of Rushton, Clark & Co.)

CHEMIST AND DRUGGIST

WHOLESALE AND) RETAIL,

SOLE PROPRIETOR OF RUSHTON'S GENUINE

COD LIVER OIL,

And all Preparations known as Rushton's. .

Importer of French and English Chemicals, Perfumery, Tooth, Hair, and Nail Brushes, &c., AT THE OLD ESTABLISHMENT,

No. 10 ASTOR HOUSE, Corner of Barclay Street, and 417 BROADWAY, Corner of Canal Street, (Brandreth House).

The late firm of Rushton, Clark & Co., having been dissolved by its own limita- tion, and by the decease of my Father, the Founder and Originator of the Establish- ment (the late Wm. L. Rushton), I beg leave to announce to the Patrons of the late Firm, and to the Public generally, that I will carry on the business in all its branches at the Old Establishment, No. 10 ASTOR HOUSE, Corner of Barclay St., and No. 417 BROADWAY, Corner Canal Street, and respectfully solicit a share of the patronage hitherto so generously extended to the late Mr. Rushton.

Having been connected with the business of the late firm for upwards of ten years, and educated in the Establishment, under the immediate supervision of my Father, my experience, I feel confident, will enable me to prosecute the business as success- fully and as satisfactorily as when under his charge. Possessing the original recipes for the manufacture of the various popular medicines of the late Wm. L. Rushton, and of all the firms he originated, and was Senior Partner of, and being the only person entitled to use his name, and having obtained my knowledge of their mode of pre- paration from him, I feel that I can safely claim for them the same character for superiority and purity for which they always have been noted.

I beg to assure my friends and the public generally, that my individual attention will be given to the management of the business, hoping to merit the same patron- age and kindness so long bestowed on my Father.

I remain, yours, most respectfully,

FREDERICK V. RUSHTON.

SPECTACLE MAKER TO THE NEW YORK EYE AND EAR INFIRMARY, AND OPTICIAN BY DIPLOMA TO THE NEW YORK EYE HOSPITAL &c., &c.

The advantages these Spectacles possess over all others are :

Ist. Both near and distant objects can be seen with equal facility.

2d. Extreme clearness of vision particularly by gas or candle lights, imparting a soothing influ- ence and quieting all nervous irritations of the eye.

3d. Alteration to stronger powers, in most cases never required, but suiting the sight for years, strengthening and preserving the weak or aged visual functions to the end of life, whether the defect arises from age, weakness or premature decay.

4th. Being ground by machinery mathematically calculated expressly for these Glasses, which produces them of unerring spherical accuracy, with a focus at their exact centre, a point of the greatest importance in the action of all Spectacles.

We cannot appreciate the good effect of common Spectacles, even on the eye, unless properly adjusted to it by some scientific optician. Then how much better must these Patent Glasses be when correctly and accurately applied to that important organ. Why ! they must be a real comfort and like a divine blessing to those afflicted with defective vision.
