The upper section or fire chamber being enclosed with doors to protect the fire from wind and rain when in use out of doors, or for safety and escape of smoke while in use in doors.
JAMES A. TREMERE & Co.'s PORTABLE FORGE
Has been got up with great care, both with reference to utility and appearance, and only requires to be seen to satisfy the purchaser of its superiority over all other kinds heretofore in use, for the same or like purposes. The graduating Twier Iron which we use together with the slide damper, by which the amount of air is perfectly gradu- ated, and places the blast entirely under the control of the operator. This mode of governing the blast, will, with all scientific mechanics, have a governing influence in their purchasing, as the blast is all that a forge is for, and this is the only one that has any apparatus whereby the blast can be regulated at the option of the operator.
Circulars with particulars and prices will be forwarded upon application.

RUSHTON'S
GENUINE MEDICINAL COD LIVER OIL
PREPARED FROM FRESH LIVERS,
AND WARRANTED PURE, BY
Frederick V. Rushton, (Son of the late Wm. L. Rushton,)
CHEMIST AND DRUGGIST AT THE OLD ESTABLISHMENT,
No. 10 ASTOR HOUSE, cor. Barclay-st. AND No. 417 BROADWAY, cor. Canal-st. NEW YORK.
DIRECTIONS.
For an adult a teaspoonful three times a day, an hour or two after each meal. In some cases it may be neces- sary to commence with sinaller doses and increase them gradually, as it agrees with many better at first in small quantities ; others can increase the dose to three or four tablespoonfuls. For children the dose is from a halt tea- spoonful to a tablespoonful, increased according to their age.
The Oil put up by me is warranted equal in quality and purity to that heretofore put up by my Father.
N. B .- As I am the sole Proprietor of Rushton's Cod Liver Oil, I hereby caution all persons purchasing Oil to observe that my name is in full on each label, and my signature over the cork of each bottle, without which none is genuine.
Notice .- No other parties are authorized to use the name of Rushton, either solely or in connection with any others.
FREDERICK V. RUSHTON.
The Genuine Rushton's Oil may be known by above Label. COD LIVER OIL is the only Remedy for Scrofula and Pul- monary Consumption that has ever gained and sustained the reputation of a Cure for these Diseases. The action of Cod Liver Oil on the system is very simple. It combines nutritious with remedial qualities ; thus repairing the waste of the organism while removing the disease. Its action in SCROFULA is still more strikingly beneficial. This disease is but the precursor of Consumption, inasmuch as it arises from the same cause, but modified by the earlier period of life at which it exists.
This Medicinal Oil was introduced into this country by my father, the late Wm. L. Rushton, and I possess all the facilities which he introduced for procuring a pure and genuine article. FREDERICK V. RUSHTON.
RUSHTON'S NEW REMEDY FOR
FEVER AND AGUE, OR INTERMITTENT & BILIOUS REMITTENT FEVERS.
This Remedy embraces two prescriptions-a box of Pills for breaking up the disease, and a bottle for its radical cure. It is prepared from the recipes of Dr. C. D. GRISWOLD, who has had an extensive experience in the treatment of miasmatic fevers while Surgeon to an hospital on the Isthmus of Panama, and several years' practice in aguish districts elsewhere.
The advantage of this remedy over all others of a similar kind, consists in its effects of immediately breaking up the disease, and thus preventing the inju- rious consequences of a succession of chills upon the constitution, and afterwards protecting the system against their return.
It contains no arsenic or other injurious drug, and will be found valuable in removing the constitutional effects of an Ague that has previously existed.
FREDERICK V. RUSHTON, SOLE PROPRIETOR,
417 Broadway, corner Canal St., and 10 Astor House, corner Barclay Street, NEW YORK.
WM. L. RUSHTON'S COMPOUND LIVERWORT PASTE, For Coughs, Colds, Influenza, &c.
This valuable preparation has been extensively used for many years past, and highly recommended by Phy- sicans. It promotes expectoration and a gentle and healthy perspiration, relieves a cough or difficult respi- ration, and acts as a mild alternative upon the system generally. It is agreeable to the taste, and put up in boxes that can be carried in the pocket, and will be found very efficacious.
ALSO
RUSHTON'S WILD CHERRY LOZENGES, WISTAR'S COUGH LOZENGES, ALUM AND KINO LOZENGES, for Sore Throats, Hoarseness, &c.
PASTILLES (which resemble the Pastilles de Paris, but not so disagreeable to the taste), for Catarrhal Affections, Cold in the Head, &c.
Prepared only by F. V. RUSHTON, Son of the late Wm. L. Rushton.
RUSHTON'S Velpeau's Diarrhea Remedy, OR
CHOLERA PREVENTIVE.
The great success of this Preparation, during the prevalence of the Cholera in 1849, has given it an un- precedented celebrity, and in many thousand cases where it was used, it rarely failed to check a diarrhoea with the first dose.
It is no secret preparation, as the ingredients of which it is composed are on the label of each bottle, and it is recommended and prescribed by the most eminent physicians.
Prepared only by FREDERICK V. RUSHTON,
" The genuine article will have my signature on each wrapper, without which none is genuine.
