RENSSELAER STREET DIRECTORY.
Giving the name of each street, and showing what other streets run from or across it with the numbers at which they intersect.
From this list the location of any number on a street can be easily ascertained ; as, for instance, wishing to know at what part of Broadway No. 422 comes, you look at Broadway, on this page, and find that Fourth avenue runs from 400 and Herrick street from 500, showing that 422 Broadway would come between Fourth avenue and Herrick.
Or, going up Broadway, suppose it is desired to take a cross street to reach 1323 Second street. on looking under Second street you find 1300 to be at Catharine street, so that by passing through Catharine street you are near the desired number.
Where no numbers exist, ciphers (0) are given to indicate whether the street runs from the right or left, or crosses.
The names of the streets are given in alphabetical order, giving the direction in which they run according to the numbers. Even numbers are upon the right hand side of the street, and the odd numbers upon the left.
