OUR NEW STORE.

O N the completion of this building, our new store, early in the fall, Albanians and the residents of adjacent cities and towns who make Albany their shopping center, will have cause for satisfaction and delight.

It will be a thoroughly modern store, and a thoroughly safe store. From its sub- basement to the roof, six stories on Pearl street, and eight stories on James street, it will be filled with the merchandise for which this store is noted.

Floor space will be nearly twice that of the old store.

Founded on rock, the foundations being carried to sixty feet below the earth's surface to solid rock, it will be as solid and as substantial as human ingenuity can make it. It will be ab- solutely fire-proof. Steel frame filled in with brick and stone.

We have been unsparing in our efforts to discover and adopt every appliance which will minister to your safety, comfort and needs. Every facility for the convenience and pleas- ure of the shopping world has been sought after and provided. We are able to guarantee a store that in every way will meet your requirements and compel your admiration.

Four Plunger Elevators will be used, assuring quick and safe trans- portation.

Installing the Pneumatic Cash System means promptness in making change.

Then there will be immense Ven- tilating Fans, a Telephone Circuit reaching every department, Com- pressed Air Sweeping Apparatus, lux- uriously appointed Waiting and Rest- ing Rooms, and many other modern features.

Having double the space in the new over the old store, permits of greater displays of merchandise, and, therefore, we have anticipated the needs of our public and placed orders with the leading manufacturers at home and abroad, so that when the doors of the new institution are thrown open for business, its great resources will appeal and carry con- viction to the minds of all.

In every way we aim to per- fect the service, personnel and sys- tem, have it as nearly perfect as is possible.

In the meantime we desire to serve our customers to the best of our ability in our pres- ent store, where we have gathered for them our accustomed attractive stock.

THIS STORE'S EXPANSION BUILT ON CONFIDENCE.

W

HEN the extensive remodeling, which has practically been in progress for the past year, is completed, every floor in our great store will look new to our patrons.

Enlarged floor space, better service-in fact, everything that tends to comfort in shopping has been zealously looked to.

The Whitney business is built on confidence, just the same as everything else.

Albany people come here and buy because they know the store is reli- able; because they know we couldn't afford to lend our name and prestige to anything that was without merit; because they know that they can almost without fail buy things here for less money than they will cost anywhere outside this store.

The store has built up this widespread feeling by years of good service, by doing little things with as much painstaking care as great ones receive; by hav- ing great and full stocks of merchandise always ready; by making the store in every feature and detail a pleasant, comfortable, cheerful place in which to shop
