S OFAS .- Patented 1848 .- The Pa - tentee of this Sofa was the first in this country who introduced the Spring Seat Sofa, which has taken the place of all other sofa seats throughout the United States. The present is a greater improvement, and will be as extensively used when known. It is a handsome, easy, spring Sofa, and also a wide good spring Bed, which by those who use them, are preferred to any other bed now in use, and is afforded at a price which will be seen at once, makes them an article of economy as well as a luxury. The change from a spring sofa to a spring bed, can be made by any one, even a child, in one minute, with head and foot board, if desired, and is as easily re- turned to a sofa. They are not like the sofa beds generally for sale and in use, which require time and strength to arrange them for use, and are then only an apology for a bed or sofa, being hard and uncomfortable. and growing more so by use, as they must in the nature of the case. This is a perfect Sofa, without the least appearance of a bed, when used asa sofa-and when used for a bed, elas- tic and easy, and continuing so as long as used, securing to those who buy them a good sofa, and a good! spare bed, at a small advance in cost above the price of a sofa or a bed- the place of both of which it will supply.
