RULES to be observed by Perfons tranfacting Bufinefs with the Ofice of Difcount and Depofit of the BANK of the UNITED STATES at NEW-YORK.
T HE Office will be open for the tranfaction of bufinefs every day in the year, (Sundays, Chrift- mas-day, public fafts, thankfgiving days, and the 4th of July excepted) from the hour of ten in the morn- ing till one in the afternoon, and from three until five o'clock in the afternoon.
The rate of difcount is fixed at fix per cent. per annum, upon notes or bills not having more than thirty days to run; three days of grace will be allowed, and the difcount taken for the fame.
Every bill or note offered for difcount, fhall be de- livered into the office on the day preceding the day of clifcount, and fhall be inclofed in a fealed cover, di- rected to the Cafhier, advifing the name of the per- fon upon whofe account it is offered.
Money and other fmall articles of value lodged in the office, may be re-drawn at pleafure free of expence.
Bills and notes left at the office for collection, will be prefented for acceptance, and the money collected or demanded without expence, except in cafe of pro- teft; the charges of which fhall be paid by the perfon lodging the bill or note.
Payments made at the office m'ift be examined at the time; no fuggeftion of miftake can be afterwards admitted.

Eagles, each to be of the value of ten dollars or units, and to contain 247 grains and 4 of a grain of pure, or 170 grains of ftandard gold.

A pound of pure gold is valued equal to fifteen pounds of pure filver.
Gold coins are to confift of eleven parts fine and one part alloy.
The ftandard of filver coins is 1485 parts fine to 179 parts alloy.
Money of account of the United ftates fhall be ex- preffed in dollars or units, difmes or tenths, cents or hundredths, and mills or thoufandths : a difme being the tenth of a dollar, a cent the hundredth, and a mill the thoufandth. And all accounts in the public of- fices and all proccedings in the courts of juftice, fhall be had in conformity to this regulation.
A fmall beginning in the copper coinage has taken place already, and there is no doubt of a fufficient quantity being fpeedily iffued to anfwer the purpofes of fmall change throughout the union.
