But no places shall be granted at a less price than has been fixed at the above mentioned calculation. And the aforesaid seven men shall be obliged by these instruction to secure to every person who has contributed towards the cost of this church, an undisputed right and just title for the seats which every one shall receive in the church, "to him and his heirs and assigns forever." And the aforesaid seven men are also obliged, in accordance with these instructions, to do justice without discrimination to every person who has contributed towards building the church, and further to perform their duties in accordance with these instructions. And in case they shall be negligent each one of the aforesaid seven men shall be obliged, if it can be proved against them, to repair the wrong or injus- tice they have done, and to defray the expense consequent upon it out of their own pocket to every one having assisted in building the church and who shall have suffered in con- sequence of said neglect.
And in order to bind the seven men they shall upon their election, sign these instructions. And after the church shall be completed they shall show to everybody his or her seat or seats in return for the money or the work that has been given or done, but in such a manner that it be not contrary to the regulations of the neighboring Christian Reformed Churches.
And after the places shall have been conveyed it shall also be entered in the above named book to whom and even where the place or places are located. And after the above named work shall have been completed by the above named seven men, other church masters shall be elected at the same time that there shall be an election of members of the Consistory in conformity with the rules of neighboring churches.
And thereupon the above named seven men shall render account of all they have done in building the aforesaid church, and in case any money shall have remained they shall hand it over to the new church masters and it is to be used to the benefit of the church ; and also the above named book, and whatever else they have to deliver they shall deliver to the new churchmasters, and thus they shall be discharged from their office.

According to an order or instructions by the Reformed Dutch Congregation at New Paltz, dated October 25, 1771, the aforesaid congregation met on this ninth day of Novem- ber in the same year at the house of Abraham Doiau to elect by virtue of the aforesaid instructions from among the afore- said congregation, upon a majority of votes, seven men. And according to the afore- said order and the above conditions we have chosen and authorised the aforesaid Abraham Doiau to be Overseer and Director of the work, and to receive the money and the labor, and to employ the same in the building of the church, accord- ing to the aforesaid regulations.
In witness whereof we have affixed our signatures herebelow on the day and date as above.
