CATHLAMET
The county seat of Wahkiakum county, Wash., situated on the Columbia river, 75 miles n w of Portland and 30 miles east of Astoria. Principal industries are logging and fishing. A large cannery is situated here operated by The Warren Packing Company with Charles Il Warren as man- ager. There are four general stores, two hotels, one the Hotel Vanguard, located at the boat landing, is very con- venient for travelers. The Columbia River Sun, edited by George F Hanigan, is an excellent sheet, also a first-class: advertising medium. Cathlamet has a Congregational church. All river steamers land here. Mail daily.
