A postoffice established in 1910 on the Astoria division of the S. P. & S. Ry. and the Columbia River, 74 miles west of Portland, 26 from Astoria, 12 from Clatskanie, the banking point. The Crossett Western Lumber Co.'s mill, located here, has a capacity of 225,000 feet per day and employs between 250 and 350 men. Has recently completed the erection of a new modern planing mill with a daily capacity of 175,000 feet, the entire plant being operated by electricity. Has 32 feet of water at the dock at low tide. The Columbia Highway (Port- land to Astoria) is about a quarter of a mile back of Wauna with a good road connecting same. Mail daily.
