Then sd Rich4 Halwell & Jasper Yeates appeared befor ye Gor Council, signifying y' having been of his Council, but now as by y' Sheriff of N. Castle his return appears being chosen to serve in ass, requested his dismiss from ye Council. The Gor granted yr desire during yo ss. of assemblie, but yrafter expected yr return to yr duty as Councellors to him.

Accordinglie they appeared, & ye pror & Gor caused ye Secrie to read the titles of all the Laws y' had been engrossed in number- - - Contained in sheets of paper, & askt ye member of Council, Caleb Pussey & ye members of ass: Jasp Yeates & Isaac Norris, whether they wer satisfied y' y' titles read wer the titles of ya Laws they had Comped, & that they wer trulie ingrossed, who answered y' they wer satisfied with both.
Wherupon, after ye pror had caused ye sd Laws to be signed by ye Speaker Josep. Growdon, in name & behalf of ye assemblie, & had Caused ye great seal to be appended to ye same-Hee openlie, in presence of ye Councill & assembly, declared the same to be the Laws of the province of Pennsilvania & the Territories y'to belong- ing, according to ye kings Letters patent, granted to Him und' y' great Seal of England. And did prorogue this Assembly to ye first of April next, but said hee wold not Call ym together till the eighth moneth came, twelve moneth without a Verie emergent occasion.
