HISTORY OF YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
The following is a muster roll of Captain Archibald McAllister's Company, in 1776, then serving under Colonel Hartley. In the fall of that year Hartley's Regiment joined Washington's army near Trenton, New Jersey. This company, under Captain Mc- Allister, took part in the battles of Brandy- wine, Paoli, Germantown and White Marsh in 1777, and in 1778, they marched with Hartley's regiment against the Indians on the northern frontier:
