The Rev. Comipilor states in one place "From this date to Jan. 1, 1818, this work was neglected, and shall make it out as well as I can from memory and from certificates of publishments." Under date of Oct. 7, 1826, he writes "This makes 176 marriages on record; a number I have omitted which I mean as soon as possi- ble to ascertain. I should think it would amount to at least 10, making in all 186."
Dr. David Benedict was a very popular minister of the Baptist denomination in Pawtucket. References to the various histories of Pawtucket will give further particulars.
