Virmillion for three years, after. which he attended Summer Hill select school at Omen, under that prince of instruc- tors, Professor Orr. The last year of his course there was a regular teacher'a course, which he completed and has en- joyed & first-grade. certificate to teach ever since. He has chosen this profes- sion and intends to do nothing else in life. He prefers the opportunity to im- press the young and to lift them up and benefit them to any other vocation. His ideals ers high and ho is thoroughly con- secrated to his purpose. July 23. 1879 he led Miss Sarah Weldon to Hymen'e altar. They have one boy-little Otho. He was the . father of Alexander Thomas Mckinnon and grandfather of our subject. His son. A. T., became a merchant. He .married Aletha Lawrence In 1854. They had five children, came to Texas in 1870. The fa- ther died In Terrell In 1889, the mother Is still living. Bryant was born in Alabama in 1887. The family moved to Van Zandt County in. 1870, but iater to . Terreli. where young Bryant was educated. They then returned to Van Zandt and have lived there ever since. He married Lucy Ridgell In 1889. She lived four years. In November, 1896, he married Julia Phil- lips, who was a native Van Zandt Coun- ty girl. Mr. Mokinnon is the father of three children, one by the first union, two by the second. He is a Methodiat, a Ma- son and Woodman of the World. He is quite a successful business man, and owns city property In Canton and Terrell; alao 1020 acres of farm landk.
